For trailer wiring for your 1998 Nissan Frontier I have a much better solution for you than a universal wiring kit like the part # HM48895 that you referenced. You would want the Tow Ready wiring harness part # 118362 instead. This is a custom fit kit that is designed to plug right in line with the taillight wiring of your vehicle and won't require any cutting or splicing.
