Helpful Expert Reply:
Battery life is going to depend on several factors though I can tell you that 11 years is a very long time for a small break away battery such as # TK2023. If the battery is not exposed to high or low temperatures for prolonged periods and does not get any corrosion on the terminals then it can last a long time with regular charge and discharge cycles.
If you are unsure of the battery's condition then an auto parts store may be able to hook it up to a battery tester to see how its doing and if it is time to replace it.
