Question:
the left brake light and turn signals quit working on my trailer. Ive isolated the problem to a relay buried within the TIPM. too expensive to have this replaced. Id like to tap into the trucks wiring at the left rear light with a converter if there is one available, which will combine the separate system on the truck to a combined system for the trailer. On my 04 ram 3500 the trailer wiring connector is a totally separate circuit from the truck wiring.

I have heard other customers who had similar issues and they were able to get the dealer to fix the issue under warranty but only 1 time. I don't know if your 2004 Ram still has any warranty but it might be worth a phone call to a dealer to find out.
Or you can install wiring harness # C55504 which plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring. the converter is already built in and you will not have to worry about cutting and splicing vehicle wires for installation.
If you only need left brake light and turn signal then you can cut the 4-Way off and use the yellow wire and tape off the others and stow them out of the way.
