is there any cutting for the front bumper required to mount this front hitch to my equinox?

Installation of the Curt Front Hitch # C31032 on your 2012 Chevrolet Equinox will require some trimming of the front bumper fascia. The area that requires trimming is shown in the linked photo and in the complete installation instructions which are linked for you.
