Question:

On the Thule bike rack TH934XTR do I need a 2inch or 1 1\4inch hitch. two friends tell me different things.

Actually, both of your friends are correct about the Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack # TH934XTR.

This great Thule rack will fit BOTH 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch trailer hitches thanks to its included adapter. Do note that some 1-1/4-inch hitches are rated as light-duty Class I types and these can carry only 2 bikes, even though the rack can carry 4. In order to carry more than 2 bikes you need a Class II or Class III hitch, which is a 2-inch size.
