Saris Freedom SuperClamp 4 Bike Platform Rack Recommendation

Question:

Hello, After looking at two of you other 4 bike platform racks that have only have one arm that clamps down on the tires for months. This new rack intrigues me that it clamps front and rear tires. My question is, do you need to use the tire/rim strap at all? Or would the tires clamps suffice? Thank you,

Honestly, the Saris Freedom SuperClamp 4 Bike Platform Rack # SA4026F most likely would secure your bikes just fine without using the wheel straps. However, Saris recommends you use the wheel straps so I can't recommend you deviate from their instructions. Using the straps will help position the bike onto the wheel trays for when you are securing the wheel hooks.

Racks like this are great because don't contact the frame of the bike at all to secure it. This is especially nice when transporting a carbon framed bike.
