How Do I Determine if I Have the Older Yakima Q-Towers or the Newer Q-Towers # Y00124

Question:

how do I know if i have the new generation Q-tower or the older models? ive heard the older ones can be identified by a hash mark. what does this hash mark look like and where can it be found?

In order to determine which style of Yakima Q-Towers that you have you will just need to take a look at the very top of the tower where the crossbar goes in. The older style will have a hash mark in the Q-tower where as the newer Q-Tower, # Y00124, is smooth and will not have any marking. I have attached a picture which illustrates what to look for.
