Much nicer having the metal lock ring as plastic that will definitely break if you should drop it. Installation was pretty easy, hand sanitizer is your friend, lube up the inside tapered lip of the lock ring and the ridge on the plug. I got one side started and pushed the other side on a wood block and it went right on. Locks on good! A little pricey in my opinion.

by:

Nice lock ring. Just didn’t work with our Rv cord and trailer

by:

Was easier to install than I thought onto my original OEM Furrion 50 amp RV power cord. Used some hand sanitizer to help lubricate the new ring then just twisted it on.

It’s still going strong. A big improvement over the original plastic ring.

by:

I paid for this product and it was never delivered

by:

Fits well and works perfectly. Don’t have to worry about this one breaking like the plastic original.

by:

Excellent, but very difficult to get on the female coupling. Used silicone lube, and put the ring in boiling water to expand somewhat, used mechanix gloves and pushed it on, then hit it with ice water to constrict it. Fits perfectly now!

by:

A few finger pounds of pressure and my new metal locking ring went on without a problem. Easy install.

by:

Correct part fit great great service couldn't have ask for anything more . Great job E trailer

by:

Great item better than plastic that the trailers came with

by:

Works great much better than the plastic original had to figure out how to install it but used some spray silicone and tapped it on with a hammer

by:

Easy to add to my cord. Yet too attach to the camper. Definitely better than the cheap plastic lock nut.

by:

Very easy install on my rvs 50 amp power cord. The stock plastic ring had cracked and was no longer serviceable. This one slid right on with a little dish soap. Took less than 5 minutes and I shouldn't have to worry about it again.

by:

Very good component for the environment.

by:

I had owned my camper about 3 months when the cheap plastic screw cap broke into, I hunted everywhere for a replacement, cause it wasn't making a good connection and we would get shocked from time to time. I found these and actually bought 2 cause I figured they would be cheap and break as well boy was I wrong 1 year in and its still looks as good as the day I installed it. Thanks etrailer.

This product is a must have for camper hook ups. Your plastic ring will break so go ahead and get you a new metal ring and be done with it. Great Product

by:

Perfect... It take a bit of effort to press it on, but then it works perfectly. A great repair part!

by:

Recieved item, was well packed. the ring did not fit my RV 50 amp recepticle. It seemed to be too tight too screw onto the threades. Tried everything I could but it was just too tight. I tried several plastic rings and they screwed on fine without any problems. I screwed the metal ring up by using channel locks to get it off, so I am going to eat it and chalk it up to "Buyer Beware".I believe the ring was just off enough to make the differance. 2025 Grand Design 2970 RL.

Sorry to hear that, Hoke. Is the plug you were wanting this for a Furrion? Or is it something else?

by:

Fits and works perfectly

by:

Worked great. Easy install. Way better than the cheap plastic original.

by:

Item went on easy and works great, I would recommend this item

by:

Original plastic ring broke after about three years of camping. Was told by serval (big name camping chain) stores/parts suppliers that they did not sell such a product and that I would have to buy a new cord. Found this on etrailer.com. Read the reviews and decided to order one. Used just a touch of liquid soap and the ring snapped on very quickly and easy. With this product designed for marine use it should withstand the elements. Time will tell.

by:

The ring on my 50-Amp shore power cord broke, and left the plug "internals" handling the heavy weight of the cord. This ring was reasonably easy to slip over the end, so I was concerned that it might not secure the cord very effectively. But it works quite well once it's in place. Much sturdier than the plastic one from another vendor that cost almost twice as much!

by:

The metal should be standard on all RV power cords. Easy to install and you do not have to worry about it breaking

by:

Product received in record time and was an excellent fit as advertised

by:

Plastic ring was missing when I bought a used travel trailer and this worked perfectly to hold the plug in place. No worry about plastic breaking. A little tight getting on but a little dish soap solved that. Extremely happy with purchase.

by:

My replacement ring was actually received 2 days prior to the original stated delivery date. It was to replace the original plastic threaded ring, which had cracked. Ring was exactly as advertised. Very well made, and being metal, it should last much longer than the original plastic ring. It was easy to put onto the end of my cord, and fits the connector on the 5th wheel perfectly. It is well made and should last for years.
