Pressing a harmonic balancer on by hand or with improvised tools can damage threads fast. This installer helps you seat the balancer smoothly on compatible GM LT and LS engines without forcing it into place.
When replacing a harmonic balancer on a GM LS or LT engine, forcing it into place can strip threads or misalign components. This installer is built for Gen 3, 4, and 5 GM LT and LS engines from 1997 to current models, helping guide the balancer onto the crankshaft using controlled pressure. It is not compatible with 1992-1997 Gen 2 LT1 5.7 engines, so verify engine generation before use. A 32 mm (1-1/4") wrench engages the bearing to press the balancer into position.
