Hi everyone. Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and showing you how to replace the wiper blades on your 2022 Toyota RAV4. We're gonna be showing you with the ClearPlus Frame Style Wiper Blades. This comes in a kit, so you've got the 16 inch for your passenger side, as well as the 26 inch for the driver's side. We're gonna be showing you the passenger side installation.
It's the same for both of them, so we're going to install this one and compare it to the factory blades that we're replacing. Now the frame style, you can see it's more of that just metal construction, and you've got multiple points of contact on the blade. Now personally, I'm not as big a fan of this style just because I don't feel like it gets as good of pressure on the end points as you would with a solid beam that comes in a more curved shape that flattens and conforms to the windshield. That's just my personal anecdote. You may have great experiences with frame style.
It might work fine on the RAV4, but that's my personal experience and the way I tend to lean. Replacing it's pretty straightforward though. You wanna lay down a towel over your windshield or some sort of padding to protect the windshield in case this drops down, you don't want to crack the windshield. And I'm just gonna use a trim tool to pop open this tab on the factory blade because there's not a whole lot of room to get your finger in there, and then just remove it from the hook. After that, we can pop the ClearPlus wiper blade on the hook in the reverse way of how we removed the other one.
You'll feel it kind of click in, and then move the towel aside, and we can do a quick comparison here. See if we noticed any streaking, skipping. We can just see how smooth it operates. And right away, I'm not hearing anything skip. It's looking fairly smooth, and I'm not noticing any streaking, which is great to see.
I will say that there is a good amount of streaking on the driver's side with the factory blade. You may not be able to see it super well on camera, but you can definitely see it in person, and although it fades away, we're worried about the longevity of it. So you can definitely see that the replacement is doing its job and getting a nice clean view for the windshield. And overall, I think it's a really easy part to replace on your RAV4. You can do it in just a couple minutes in your driveway and you're back to getting a good, clear view of the road. I would maybe look into some wiper blades that have that beam style, or if you're going into the winter months maybe look into a winter wiper blade. ClearPlus has a version of this that will be for those winter months that I would recommend looking at. Either way you go though, it's gonna get you a better view. Thanks for watching..

The blade is a great value. I went for the cheap because I went for the expensive option before (Michelin) and it did not last or perform any better that the cheapest alternative in the heat of Texas.

We picked up a cheap, used car for $200 and aren't sure if we're keeping it. It sat for a while and all the rubber was a little funky. No one around had wipers for what I thought was worth the investment so I searched on line. I was looking at hitches and roof racks later for pricing and noticed etrailer had wipers. They had some very economically reasonable options as well the brand name and fancy winter booted ones. For less than the cost of two locally we got all three and they showed up in great shape and all fit. Really handy. I've been getting hitches and parts for years from etrailer and have never been disappointed with the the quality or the customer service.
Nice quality blades. Inappropriately packed in large box for shipping and internal packaging broke open. Needed to re-tape tp keep plastic adapter in package. Otherwise fine.

Held up for a year in the AZ sun. About due for replacement but 115 heat will do that to rubber.
I am sure the product is fine but I expected a front windshield wiper and this is a rear blade. I will have to return, which is if course a pain.
