Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the H3 LED headlight bulbs. These are our placement for your factory bulbs to give you a nice, bright light that's going to be more efficient and a better light than your typical OEM or even your halogen bulbs. So let's take a closer look at these and make sure that they're going to be the right fit for you. They do come as a set so you're going to get one for either side and it should be a pretty easy install. No cutting or splicing.
It's just a plug and play application so we'll have our two terminals here. The black wire will be our negative side. Red wire will be our positive side. You do want to note that whenever you're hooking them up because they are polarity sensitive, so be careful with that.I'm going to hook these up to my set up here just so I can show you what it looks like whenever these are illuminated. So when I clip those together and then turn the light on and you can see how it looks.
So nice, bright light. It's going to have that cool white color so that helps us to see better in the dark and that design there is precision designed to prevent any kind of glare for other drivers out on the road. As you can see, when it's right dead on, it doesn't really glare in your eyes but that is pretty thin margins. So you want to make sure that you get this dialed in where it needs to be. You can rotate the housing to do that so you can get it at the best angle for your particular housing.This does fit a lot of different vehicles.
The easiest way to figure out if it's a fit for yours, if you haven't done so already is to use our fit guide here at etrailer.com and put in your year, make and model for vehicle lights. Now, as far as the housing, it does have an aluminum base with the fins to help dissipate the heat and prevent any kind of premature failure for these guys. It is IP 67 rated. So that means it's pretty much impervious to dust. A really high water rating as well.
So you shouldn't have to worry about any kind of rain or wind or dust getting in there and causing any issues with these lights. Do come with a set of instructions to help you get them installed and troubleshoot through any issues that might arise. They work with 12 volt DC systems. The raw lumen output for each bulb is 3000 lumens.Although the number really to pay attention to is going to be the effective lumens, which is 1,995, or just under 2000 lumens. After about 30 minutes, that does drop down to 1,550 lumens but it's still nice bright light for you. Definitely should do the job. These are rated for city driving and highway use as well. You can use them for your low beam headlights so you shouldn't have any issues with blinding other drivers. The color temperature is going to be that 6,500 Kelvin or 6,500 Kelvin that's that cool white color that helps promote better visibility. The wattage is 16.5 watts per bulb. Power drop 13 volts is 1.3 amps per bulb. And the operating voltage goes between 7.5 volts and 16 volts. It does come with a two year limited warranty and that about does it for our look at the H3 LED headlight bulbs. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you.
