Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we'll be taking a quick look at the H1 style LED headlight bulbs. These are a really nice replacement for your factory OEM bulbs in your vehicle. It's going to fit several different vehicles, pretty much anything that uses that H1 style. To be sure it is a fit for your vehicle though, if you haven't done so already, I would suggest using our fit guide here at etrailer.com. Put in your year, make and model, and then go from there to find the vehicle lights. So once you've done that, should be a great option for you.
These can be used for highway use and also in the city, so you don't have to worry about blinding anybody with these lights, but they are going to provide that nice, bright, cool white light, so we can have improved visibility while we're out on the road.So let's take a closer look at these guys and make sure that they're going to be the right solution for your application. So I'm actually going to hook them up to power and ground so that you can see what they look like when they turn on. It's just those two wires there to pay attention to. You want to make sure that you hook these up right. They are polarity sensitive, so you don't want to get those switched around.I'm going to turn my power on here and we'll see our nice bright light.
I'll turn the lights out in the studio so you can get a better idea of just how bright that is. So as you can see that white color is a cooler white, and it also is precisely designed. So as I'm turning this to the side you can see how it's no longer glaring at the camera, so that helps it to prevent any kind of real hotspots or glaring for other drivers while you're out on the road. You can also adjust that in 360 degrees to get it fitted with your housing. As you can see, just with this one light, it's very bright and it's going to light up my studio pretty well. Just all on its own.
Definitely will give you an improved lighting function over your OEM lights. So I think it's a really nice looking light. Again, that cool white color helps remote visibility, cause that's just a better color for our eyes to see better at night, so should make a good addition to your vehicle.I'm going to turn that off. We can talk about some of the more detailed specs. It is IP67 rated, so that means that it's impervious to dust and it can deal with a pretty powerful water spray on there.
So we shouldn't have any issues with any kind of weather getting in there and causing any damage to our lights. It does have an integrated cooling system, so you can see all those fins around the outside that helps to dissipate any build up of heat, so they should last you a long time. These are going to have a raw lumen output of 3000 lumens per bulb, and an effective lumen output of 1,995 lumens, or just under 2000 lumens per bulb. Again, that does drop down to about 1500 lumens after about 30 minutes. So that is going to be kind of the more output that you'll actually get out of these after you've been using them for a while, but there's still definitely going to be a very nice, bright light. The effective lumens and that stable lumen output, those are really the numbers to pay attention to. Raw lumens is, in a perfect world with perfect manufacturing and perfect conditions and no interference, it has that potential of giving you 3000 lumens, but the effective lumens and stable lumen output are really more of what you can actually expect to get out of the light. The wattage per bulb is 16.5 watts. Power draw at 13 volts is 1.3 amps per bulb. The operating voltage goes between 7.5 volts and 16 volts. It is covered by a two year limited warranty, and that's pretty much all that there is to it for our lights. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you. Again, I'm Ellen here etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
