Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 1,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 668 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 197 lumens.

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the 1156 style bulbs. These are great for use as tail lights and brake lights, since they are going to give you a red LED light. So let's take a closer look at these and make sure that they're going to be the right fit for your application. As I mentioned, they are going to be that 1156 styles. So it's going to be this sort of bayonet style bulb there.
And these are going to provide a 360 degree view of light. So I'm going to hook those up to my little setup so you can see what that looks like.So I'll just connect these together. And it's kind of hard to tell or kind of hard to see that there, since it is flash, I'm just connecting those two together. If I turn the light out in my studio, it's going to get dark and see how bright those lights are. So nice and bright.
Again, it's going to be that red color. So typical for our brake lights and tail lights. Turn the lights back on in my studio. Now these are the smart series, so that means that they're going to have a built in technology to help eliminate the need to get any kind of load resistor. So it stimulates the electrical load of an incandescent bulb, and that helps to prevent any kind of hyper flashing.
So if you've tried to replace those bulbs before and they ended up just flashing, this is going to be a great fit for you.So this does install into a 15 millimeter socket with that just push screw motion, so that bayonet style. They are reverse polarity protected, so you shouldn't have any issues there. IP67 rated so they're going to be impervious to dust, waterproof, and should be a great fit for you. Now, the output per bulb is going to be a thousand lumens for our raw lumen output. The effective lumens is going to be 668 lumens.
After about 30 minutes of usage though, that does drop down to 197 lumens. Typically, you're not going to have your brake lights on for 30 minutes at a time, that would probably mean that something has gone wrong. But if they are on constantly, it does drop down that output. But really the number to pay attention to is that effective lumen output. That's 668 lumens. Plenty bright for our application, should be a good fit for us. There's going to be 26 diodes. And each of our bulbs here, the wattage per bulb is 24.5 watts. The power draw at 12 volts is two amps per bulb. And the operating voltage goes between nine volts and 18 volts DC.They are covered by a two year limited warranty. These bulbs work as intended when used as 7443A’s. No hyper flashing or other issues upon installation and operation.
Just exchanged both of my Turn Signal Bulbs on my 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel. Works wonderfully!
