Today, we're taking a look of the DeeZee Red Label 5th Wheel Toolbox in the wide design in the utility chest style part number DZ8560W. Lets begin here. Youll notice that this whole box is covered in bright tread aluminum. It gives it a nice stylish look to it. Youll also notice here we have some extra indentments that are built into the box. Theres one on the front as well as the rear. This gives some added strength to it.

The box is designed with a one-piece front, bottom and back. The only welded portions are the ends, these welded sections right here. It does have a one-piece lid to it. It also comes with two paddle-style handles. There is one lock but the one lock actually controls both of these as they are tied together. You can open the box either from this side or from this side.

It doesnt matter. They are tied together. The box comes with two keys and the one lock here. It would what would be on the drivers side of the vehicle. To lock the box, simply slip the key in, turn it 90 degrees and it locks both handles so that the box cannot be opened.

To unlock, you simply just put the key back in and turn it 90 degrees again and now were good to go. Now this box is rated at 14.9 cubic feet capacity. You will also notice that it is a chest-style box versus the truck box that some people might be used to that actually sit up on the bed rail. This can go in either the rear portion of the bed or the front portion. You will however need a long bed for this box to fit in properly so it clears the wheel wells. This box will also work if you have a 5th wheel hitch in the bed of your vehicle.

You can put it on the front side of it or behind it but if you do put it behind the 5th wheel, you will need to possibly remove it when engaging and disengaging your trailer. Now with the truck box empty, it is very light. One person can maneuver it around. It is helpful though if you have an extra set of hands for setting it in and out of the truck itself. Now you will notice here theres kind of an indentment here. What this is designed for is the truck box can be all the way against the front portion of the bed of the vehicle and yet the lid is still clear and not hit. Youll also notice here theres single hinge that runs the full length that is hidden up underneath the lip. Now you will notice that there is a smooth interior to the lid and theres two V-shapes built into it. What this is for is to give added strength to the lid itself. That way when weight is put on the top, it doesnt dimple in and crush. Youll also notice this black closed self foam strip that runs all the way around the outer edge of the lid. This is designed to keep water and debris out of the box. Youll also notice that there is two gas shocks, one on each side of the lid. This is designed to keep the lid up as well as aid in lowering and raising the lid. Now youll notice here that theres two latches. They both kind of move side to side a little bit. What this is for is its a self-centering pin so that it lines up with each of the latches properly every time. Now, because of this back here is stepped in, Ill go ahead and give you an overall width. Were looking at just over 24 inches or 2 feet. With the lid closed, we have about 19-1/2 inches in height and the overall length of the box is right about 60 inches or 5 foot. It has an overall depth of about 18 inches. Now, the overall length of the outside of the box was about 24 inches. With the lid open though because of the step-down portion in the back, you have about 19-1/2 inches from here to here so you will lose a little bit of width but there is still a very large area that you can store stuff in with this box. Now that weve gone over some of our features, I will show you what it looks like inside of our truck. Now its a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you lift the box up into place. Although it is light to move around, putting it in and out of the truck, it is a good idea to have someone help you. Now for demonstration purposes today, were not actually going to be securing this in to the bed of the vehicle but it does come with two foam strips. It has two-sided tapes on the back that you can secure to the underside of the box if you choose to permanently mount it as well as come with four self-tapping screws that have a rubber washer built in to give you a watertight seal if you drill it to the bottom of the box. There are several different ways you can mount this depending on your particular application would depend on how you would mount it. You dont even need to mount it if you dont want to. If you choose to move the box around, whether you want it in the front of the vehicle or at the back depending on your application would depend on how you choose to do that.
