Old leaf springs can make your trailer bounce and rattle, especially when it’s empty or carrying an uneven load. The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for tandem-axle trailers replaces those leaf springs with a system built for stability. Two rugged steel units with Double Aeon progressive-rate rubber springs absorb road shock and adjust stiffness as weight increases. Whether you’re towing light or heavy, the ride stays smooth, quiet, and balanced.
When one axle hits a bump, the other shouldn’t take the hit. The Silent Ride’s walking beam with a single pivot point transfers weight evenly between the axles so the trailer stays level. Each suspension arm pivots independently, keeping all tires on the ground even over rough terrain. The result is better control and less bounce or sway when the road gets unpredictable.
This system is made for tandem-axle trailers with 2-1/2" round axles and a total weight capacity of 7,000 lbs. The heavy-duty steel construction has a rust-resistant powder coat finish for long life, while the thick rubber springs and bushings are backed by a 10-year warranty. Once installed, it’s virtually maintenance-free—no grease fittings to chase or parts to adjust.
Metal-on-metal noise disappears with the Silent Ride setup. The fitted rubber bushings keep the control arms fully engaged so the springs stay active at all times, minimizing rattle and bottoming out. Each spring also acts as its own return device, keeping motion controlled after every bump and making the whole trailer ride quieter mile after mile.
The system installs using either bolt-on or weld-on mounting with some drilling required. It needs a 2" x 4" hollow steel crossmember with 3/16" wall thickness (not included) to connect the left and right assemblies. Bolt-on setups use Grade-5, 5/8" bolts (not included), and the included axle seats must be welded to your existing axles for a secure fit that holds steady under load.

The new suspension is working perfectly. 100 recommend. No springs for me.

So far all is great! The highways around here are in horrible condition. My trailer has the straight high brush fenders so you can see the tires and axles in the side mirror as you drive. Those tires are jumping like crazy on the rough pavement, but the trailer body is so smooth the cows think theyre riding in a Cadillac!

After a year and approximately 8k mi on the suspension, the Timbren Silent Ride seems strong. The silent aspect of this suspension is no longer silent after things have broken in but not nearly as squeaky as the leaf setup. My stock 2-38” axle beams are slightly bent up at the ends so I’m in the process of upgrading those to 3”. I would also like the next step up in springelastomer but can’t justify the price north of $500 for the 4 rubber springs. When loaded I only have about 1-34” up travel currently before axle bottoms out on frame. My only complaint or recommendation would be for future designs to enable more suspension articulation and up travel capabilities.

I'm glad these improved the ride for you Cody, and the install looks good too! What are you usually hauling?
