Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the replacement side mirror. This is going to be a custom fit for your 2014 through 2018 Subaru Forester. This is also going to fit the driver's side. If something happened to that original mirror got busted up broken or damaged in some other kind of way, this is going to be that direct replacement that you need to get back down the road safely. It's going to come in a couple of pieces.
We'll have our actual mirror housing or the mirror face. The back cover is going to come separate from that. I mean, it comes with it, but it comes not attached to the mirror. The reason for that is so you can actually paint it to match your Subaru. If you had a different color, other than black, you can get this painted up to match.It's a lot easier to do this with the cover removed, rather than it being on the housing.
That way you don't have to worry about taping it up or worrying about any kind of over-spray getting all over the mirror face. It's just easier to do it with it removed. If that's what you plan on doing, paint it up, let it fully dry and then pop it in place. Just snaps right on there. There's nothing really more to it than that.
But it's a really good idea to not put this in place until you're ready for it to stay there because these clips are meant to hold that cover in place on the highway, so they're going to hold really strongly. If you need to take it back off, it's going to be really hard to do without actually damaging the cover overall. Make sure you don't put it on there until you're ready for it to stay.It's in two pieces. The larger piece is going to up top here, and then this bottom piece goes around the back at the lower portion, so should look familiar. It does have a wiring harness, so it's going to all match up directly with your factory mirror.
There's going to be no drilling required with this. It's going to have the same footprint, same wiring harness. This just plugs right into your factory plug. Really easy to do so that you can handle it in an afternoon if that.This will allow us to utilize the remote functions, so you can adjust that mirror phase to eliminate any blind spots. It's going to have a convex design to help eliminate any blind spots. That's typical for any passenger mirror just basically means that it bends it a little bit so that it creates a wider field of view. It does have a breakaway design. You can see down here at the bottom that housing can slide over. It's hard for me to show this without it being on a vehicle, but anyway. You can flip that over so that the mirror comes in towards your vehicle. That way it keeps your vehicle more narrow. If you're in any close quarters parking spot, like a narrow parking garage or in a narrow street, you can move that mirror in closer to your vehicle So it doesn't get damaged gain.Again, this is going to fit the 2014 through '18 Subaru Forester. This is the passenger side. If you need the driver's side, that's also available here at etrailer.com. This does not support the blind spot detection system, and it does not have the memory function. If that's something that you had in your original Subaru, you'll need to get a different mirror because this one does not support it. But it will allow you to do the remote function where you can adjust it from your little knob inside your vehicle. Mirror was replacement for original that was knocked off by a falling tree. After removing broken one and installing new one it worked and looked like the original. Seemed to have a little vibration for a few weeks but soon the vibration went away and it’s just like it never happened. Very happy with the new mirror.
Arrived EXTREMELY fast and in good shape despite the fact it looked like the box had been destroyed and repacked. This is our second mirror replacement through etrailer and they have both been excellent.
Actually it turned out to be a mirror that did not fit my 2018Rav4 that was made in Canada. I stated that right from the start. The mechanic/friend who tried to modify it to fit did damage to it so I could not return it. Ashame, if only someone had notified me of the change needed for my order, I would have it on my car. Lesson learned check, double check, triple check before ordering because it just might not work. Outside of that dealing with the people at this business was very good.

Very happy with the K-Source electric side mirror. The mirror within the frame is very steady and the product looks great on my 2000 Safari.
I had originally ordered a different mirror from etrailer and the mirror was so bouncy it was difficult to tell if there were 2 or 3 cars behind me. E trailer went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with my new purchase.
The finish is excellent and looks great, but I have yet to install it. I’ll let you know if there are any fitting problems into the OEM mounting holes or the electrical harness on either side.
I used it on my 2015 Honda Odyssey EX. I couldn't find the OEM replacement due to supply issues (The one with the camera and red housing) But this works without any issues except no camera now.....who cares. We didn't like the camera anyway to be honest. And seriously, who notices that one mirror is black and the other is red? I doubt that most people never notice. We didn't care. Maybe saving over a $[XX] is worth it to you as well.

The mirror installed easily, fit perfectly, plugged right in , adjusted electronically as advertised and looks like original equipment. I am very pleased with the product, and I'm glad I purchased it. The product was shipped and delivered as scheduled.
When buying this mirror, my concerns were:
Would the quality match the original?
How difficult would it be to install?
Could I swap the original mirror back for the one on this mirror (to match my truck color)?
After installing the mirror here are my conclusions:
I am very pleased with the apparent quality of the mirror. It appears to be at least equal to the original. I will have to see how it lasts, but so far it looks great.
I easily found some YouTube videos that did a good job showing how to install side mirrors. I was able to follow the videos to get the job done. Although the videos showed complete removal of the door panel, I found I could just leave everything connected and rotate the door out from the bottom edge enough to do the job. The only reason I had to do anything with the door panel was to disconnect and then reconnect the mirror electric control.
I found I could not swap my original mirror back (in the color of my truck) for the one that is used on the replacement mirror because the connecting tabs are different. My options are to paint the back or buy and install the matching driver side replacement mirror (Item # KS61024F).
The bottom line is I am very happy with the mirror and the service I received from eTrailer. It was less than 1/5 the cost of a replacement mirror from my local Ford dealer (without installation) and appears to be just as good.
Buy genuine Toyota parts! The mirror is okay. Outside sealer is no good, after you attach the mirror, the sealer sticks up a little bit. Mirror also does not fold fully like the original mirror. It also has a shiny finish unlike the original. It also is giving me a wind noise when I drive, while the side window is open. The salesperson, Robrt B. was very helpful though.
This part was received in perfect condition within a separate gauze bag. Installation was very straight forward with a few screws and a plug in cable. I tested the mirror once connected and it worked flawlessly. Thank you for what you do and providing me with a perfect replacement at a reasonable price!
