Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the replacement side mirror. This is going to be a custom fit for your 2014 through 2018 Subaru Forester. This is also going to fit the driver's side. If something happened to that original mirror got busted up broken or damaged in some other kind of way, this is going to be that direct replacement that you need to get back down the road safely. It's going to come in a couple of pieces.

We'll have our actual mirror housing or the mirror face. The back cover is going to come separate from that. I mean, it comes with it, but it comes not attached to the mirror. The reason for that is so you can actually paint it to match your Subaru. If you had a different color, other than black, you can get this painted up to match.It's a lot easier to do this with the cover removed, rather than it being on the housing.

That way you don't have to worry about taping it up or worrying about any kind of over-spray getting all over the mirror face. It's just easier to do it with it removed. If that's what you plan on doing, paint it up, let it fully dry and then pop it in place. Just snaps right on there. There's nothing really more to it than that.

But it's a really good idea to not put this in place until you're ready for it to stay there because these clips are meant to hold that cover in place on the highway, so they're going to hold really strongly. If you need to take it back off, it's going to be really hard to do without actually damaging the cover overall. Make sure you don't put it on there until you're ready for it to stay.It's in two pieces. The larger piece is going to up top here, and then this bottom piece goes around the back at the lower portion, so should look familiar. It does have a wiring harness, so it's going to all match up directly with your factory mirror.

There's going to be no drilling required with this. It's going to have the same footprint, same wiring harness. This just plugs right into your factory plug. Really easy to do so that you can handle it in an afternoon if that.This will allow us to utilize the remote functions, so you can adjust that mirror phase to eliminate any blind spots. It's going to have a convex design to help eliminate any blind spots. That's typical for any passenger mirror just basically means that it bends it a little bit so that it creates a wider field of view. It does have a breakaway design. You can see down here at the bottom that housing can slide over. It's hard for me to show this without it being on a vehicle, but anyway. You can flip that over so that the mirror comes in towards your vehicle. That way it keeps your vehicle more narrow. If you're in any close quarters parking spot, like a narrow parking garage or in a narrow street, you can move that mirror in closer to your vehicle So it doesn't get damaged gain.Again, this is going to fit the 2014 through '18 Subaru Forester. This is the passenger side. If you need the driver's side, that's also available here at etrailer.com. This does not support the blind spot detection system, and it does not have the memory function. If that's something that you had in your original Subaru, you'll need to get a different mirror because this one does not support it. But it will allow you to do the remote function where you can adjust it from your little knob inside your vehicle.
