Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source Replacement Side-View Mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for your 2016 through 2017 Toyota Prius, passenger side, side-view mirror. It is modeled after the Prius's original look and fit. So, you're really not going to be able to tell that it is a replacement.

It's going to look like it came with your Prius right from the factory. You can see this back plate, it does come disassembled. It's very easy to get assembled. You just snap it into place there. But once you do that, it does stay pretty tight.

It's very difficult to get it to come back off. So that's why I'm not going to install it now.But they have this disassembled so that you can paint it and not have to worry about getting any overspray of your paint on the rest of the mirror. But you can paint that to whatever color would best match your vehicle. So again, giving you that nice integrated look, so you don't have to worry about it looking like you've pieced together parts from the junkyard or anything like that. So it's a nice, complete look.

Looks like it came right from the factory.Like your original mirror, it does have the power remote capability. So you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle. It also has the heated mirror glass. So, it's going to clear away that frost and ice, help reduce fogging on those chilly mornings and cold days. Keep in mind, both of those capabilities are only possible if your vehicle is already capable of doing that.

So if your original mirror could do it, this mirror will do it as well, but it won't add those capabilities to your vehicle if it doesn't already have those features.It does have the OE grade quality to it. So, just like your original it's made out of the same high-quality components, so it's going to hold up well. It's got a plated mirror glass. It's plated with a reflective Chrome. So it's going to give you a nice, clear image. You're going to be able to see what's behind you. It does have a convex lens, like most of your passenger side mirrors do. So that reduces those blind spots and helps you see what's going on around you. It does have the breakaway design. So if you we're to hit a pole or the side of your garage or something like that, it is going to try and fold in on itself to help absorb some of that impact, reduce the amount of damage to the mirror itself. And it does have the same footprint as your original mirror. So you're not going to have to drill any new holes or anything.Basically you just take your old mirror off. Make sure you unplug the power cord to it. And then you can get this one mounted right in the same spot, tighten down the bolts, get it plugged in and you're ready to go. So you're not going to have to worry about extensive customization or anything like that. It's all going to be the exact same footprint as your original.For those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance, this is going to work for you, this is a direct replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there. So, if you're going through your owner's manual or you see that number on your original mirror, you can trust that this is going to be the replacement that you need.
