Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at eTrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a custom fit for the 2014 through '17 Toyota Highlander. So it should match right up with your original mirror. You shouldn't have any issues with it looking just the same.

Now you might think, "Well, hold on, mine didn't look like this." That's because the cover does come separately so that you can paint it to match the rest of your Highlander. So whenever this is in place, it should look something like that. But you want to make sure that if you are going to paint this to match that you do it before you put this cover in place. Once this is on there, it's really tricky to get off, especially without marring it at all. There's some little clips that hold it in place, and it just holds on really snugly, which you want it to.But I would definitely suggest getting that painted up before you put the cover on there.

So you don't have to worry about getting any over-spray on the surface of your mirror and also so that you don't have to worry about putting it on, taking it off and possibly damaging or breaking this cover. So keep that in mind.But the rest of our mirror, we shouldn't have to worry about any kind of modifications at all. It does match right up to the original footprint. So we'll have our three attachment points there. We'll just reuse the hardware from our old mirror and then, plug in our wiring.

So this is going to plug directly into our factory wiring, no cutting or splicing required. It does support our power remote capability and the turn signal in the mirror. You can see, we have our turn signal option there.We'll also have the ability to adjust it again from the inside of our cab. Now, the one thing that this does not support is the blind spot detection system. So, that does not have the BSDS option with this.

So keep that in mind. If your mirror didn't have any of those power functions before, this is not going to be an upgrade for your vehicle. It's only going to give you the same features that you already had minus that blind spot detection if you have that one.But the lens here, the glass is a convex design. So it gives you a greater field of view. Hence the little warning at the bottom that objects in the mirror are closer than they appear since that convex design can kind of distort the depth perception in the mirror, but that's a very typical feature on a lot of mirrors. Should be the same as your old one.So really easy way to replace your mirror without having to worry about it's being mismatched, should just work right away.
