Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the K Source replacement side mirror. Now, this is going to be a direct replacement for the passenger side mirror for your 2011 through 2013 Honda Odyssey LX, and this is going to give you all the same functions as your original mirror. It does have this little plug that just is going to plug right into our original wiring, so we don't have to worry about any kind of cutting or splicing. We'll also have new hardware to get this attached to our Honda, so we get some new flange nuts to go in place. You just take your old one off, remove the hardware, pop this guy in place, connect the wiring, and then thread everything down, and you're good to go.It has a durable plastic housing with that kind of texturized black finish.
So, really easy way to replace your mirror without anybody really noticing that it didn't come from the factory. It should just look like new. We'll also have this little gasket to provide some road dampening or sound dampening effect. It goes in between your mirror and your Honda. Our glass is made of a convex lens, so it's going to kind of distort the image.
That's typically to give us a wider field of view for our passenger side and that's why it has that little warning at the bottom label saying that it's going to make objects . that objects may be closer than they appear in that mirror, just because the convex lens distorts the perspective a little bit. But again, gives you a greater field of view for that passenger side.Now, this does have the remote capabilities so we can make our adjustments from inside our Honda, but this does not have the built-in turn signal. So, that is one thing. If you didn't have the remote capability, this is not going to upgrade you.
You won't have that wiring plug to connect to, so it's not going to do you any good if you only had the manual mirror before. So, something to keep in mind there.
