Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the passenger side view mirror on your 2011 through 2016 Dodge Durango. This is modeled after the Durango's original look and fit. So you really shouldn't be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror should look like it came with your Durango right from the factory. So you don't have to worry about that piece together from the junkyard kind of look.
This is going to also have the same footprint as the original mirror, so you're not going to have to worry about any drilling or anything like that.That's going to mount the exact same way as the original so basically all you have to do is take the original off, plug this one in its place, get it mounted in and tightened down and you're ready to go. So, very easy to do it yourself kind of a weekend project, if you will, to make sure that you're going to be up and running again. Able to see out that passenger side window and make sure that you see what's coming up behind you and as you're backing up and those sort of things. Now this mirror does have several of the original features of your other mirror including the power remote capability. So you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle.It also has the heated mirror glass capability to clear frost and ice and reduce fogging.
Keep in mind those functionalities are only going to work if your vehicle is already capable of that, it will not add those capabilities if your vehicle is not already set up for it. This will not support the blind spot detection, so if you have the blind spot detection on your current mirror this will give you a little bit limited capacity capabilities. But otherwise it's going to be a really great option for you. It is an OE grade product so it's going to have the same quality materials as the original mirror, including a convex lens here to give us a wide angle view of what's coming up behind us that we reduce those blind spots.The front of the glass is plated with reflective chrome so it's going to give us a nice, clear image. This does have the breakaway functionality to it.
So if we we're to run into the side of our garage or a parking post or something like that, the mirror is going to fold in on itself to try and help absorb some of that shock and reduce the damage done to the mirror itself. But it is a really nice durable plastic with a textured black finish here on the sides. The back cover here does come disconnected so that you can connect that yourself. But you could also paint this if you want it to match your vehicle's color. If it's your current mirror isn't black you could paint this and then leave that disconnected so that you can paint this separately.You don't have to worry about over spray getting on the rest of it, but it's very easy to click in place.
But once you get it in place it is very difficult to remove that's why I'm not going to do that now. But you can see it is very similar to the original look, so it should be very easy to get that to match with that option to paint that. If you need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for you, this is going to be a replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there. So if you're looking through your owner's manual and you see that number anywhere on your original mirror, you can trust this is the replacement that you need.And this is just the passenger side. So overall, I think this is going to be a great option to get you up and running again so that you're being safe. The passenger side view mirror for my 2002 Kia Sedona mini van arrived in perfect condition a day earlier than expected. I was concerned I could find a mirror for a vehicle 18 years old. The mirror matched the original mirror and took less than 10 minutes to install. The website was easy to follow, described the product in detail and simplified ordering.

The product was as advertised but I was more impressed with the service from etrailer.com. The supplier was a bit slow but the folks at etrailer.com kept me in the loop the entire way. It was very much appreciated as my wife was very anxious about not having the side mirror. The mirror fit and worked on the first try. Just one word of caution, there are no installation instructions with the mirror so you need to be comfortable taking a door panel off and doing the install. Kudos to Megan and the other staff that were so helpful!
My only issue is that I asked for the passenger side view mirror, for my 2012 Subaru Forrester. My vehicle, the side view mirrors also have lights on both, so oncoming drivers can get an additional signal, letting them know which way I am turning. The mirror sent does not have that. So now One mirror has it, and the other side does not. Great

Approximately a 25 minute installation. Great product. Arrived in less than 5 days after ordering. Pretty much a plug and play application.
