Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be for the driver's side. It's going to fit several different GMC and Chevy vehicles, including the 2007 through 2013 GMC Sierra and the '14 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500. And then also the 2007 through 2013 Chevy Silverado and the '14 Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500. And that 2007 is going to be for the new body for the Silverado and the Sierra. And there's also a fit for the 2007 through '14 GMC Yukon and the Yukon XL, and also for the 2007 through 2014 Chevrolet Suburban and the Tahoe, as well as the 2007 through 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche.So now that I got all that out of the way, this is going to be a direct replacement for those mirrors.

So you don't have to worry about any kind of cutting or splicing. It's going to have the powered functions already wired in. So all we have to do is remove our old mirror. There should be some old nuts and studs to remove. So you might have to pop out an interior panel.

Judging by the length of this cable, you might have to kind of fish inside or underneath your driver's side dash to unhook this wiring just because it's such a long cable. Typically, they're not quite that long. So that's one thing I would look out for is finding that electrical connection. You might have to pop out that panel as I said, remove the hardware, and then put this in place. But it should just be a direct replacement.

You don't have to worry about any kind of modifications to your vehicle. It should just wire right up the exact same way that the old one comes off.It's going to have an OE grade flat glass with our turn signal indicator inside. So it's going to still have that function for us. It's also still going to have the power folding ability. So you don't have to worry about having to manually fold that in.

That also will help to deter any kind of breakage if we're going down a narrow street or maybe parked on a one-way street, going into a narrow garage, or anything like that.Housing is made of a texturized black plastic. So the top will have this kind of more smooth glossy, and then the bottom will be that more textured finish that you see pretty typically on most trim packages. We'll also have a new padding here, this kind of foam gasket that's going to help to reduce any wind or road noise, and also keep out any kind of road debris and water. So again, this does have the remote capability, heated glass, LED turn signal, and the power folding and memory functions, but those will only work if your vehicle already has those functions to begin with. So by getting this, it isn't going to upgrade your mirror to have all those functions. You need have all those pins already existing in your vehicle to make that work. So just keep that in mind.The only thing that this does not have is the puddle lamp, and it also doesn't support the auto-dimming function. So two things to note there.
