Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this GE Appliances 13,500 BTU Black High Efficiency RV Air Conditioner. Now, this is going to be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner on your RV's ducted or ductless system in your small to medium-sized camper. And this high-efficiency 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool evenly and efficiently, and it's also designed to handle harsh conditions on the road. All of this from a brand that you trust. Now, this is going to use the more energy-efficient R-32 refrigerant, which is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations.
So because of that, this will not be backwards-compatible with any AC system from 2024 and earlier. So this is just for the air conditioner unit only. You will also need an air distribution box, a control box, and a thermostat, and those three items will need to be compatible with the R-32 refrigerant. Now if you're looking for a complete system, we have you covered. We do carry complete systems from GE here at etrailer.com and you can find them.
You just need to pick out if you want the system for a ducted system or a ductless system in your RV or camper. Now, this is going to fit roofs from 2 to 6 inches thick with an opening size of 14 and 3/8 inches long by 14 and 3/8 inches wide. And just looking at some measurements of the unit itself, the overall length is gonna be 32 and 13/16 inches long, the overall width 26 and 1/8 inches wide, the overall height 13 and 15/16 inches tall. And this is going to weigh a little under 80 pounds, and this is going to run pretty quietly because the motor has sound-dampening grommets to help reduce annoying humming and vibrations. And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap for most RVs.
This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening. And underneath, there are foam pads that are going to support this unit and also that's going to help cut down on that vibration and noise and everything like that. So you got foam pads, and also, of course, the gasket that's going to enclose around the opening on your roof. This is built tough for the road, it's constructive high-grade material, so this is gonna do a good job of withstanding extreme UV rays and the constant vibration. This does feature a black hard automotive grade polymer shroud that's gonna protect the internal components from water and debris and things like that.
It can be easily removed if you ever need to do any maintenance or clean anything out. And then, the wiring harness is included. I thought it would be easier just to show you a picture of the harness, and that's going to be tucked in underneath this air conditioner unit. You do want to keep this AC, keep the rear of the AC at least 18 inches away from any obstructions to provide that proper airflow. And, of course, this is from the trusted name of GE, which is a reliable name, especially for home appliances, so you're gonna be bringing that trustworthiness and that reliability into your RV. We do have other options available as well if you're looking for the same unit but with a white cover rather than a black, or maybe you're looking for a higher BTU rating. We do have those options, and like I said before, complete systems available. This does not include any hardware. Those bolts typically come with the air distribution box. So again, if you do need a complete system, we do have those available here. So a wide variety to choose from here at etrailer.com, specifically from GE. If you do decide that this is going to be the one that's gonna work best for you, that's great. We would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with the installation and the operations, so you could drop a comment or leave a review on this product page letting us know about how things went for you; and, if you'd like, you could send us photos of this on your rig as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Install went smoothly. Very happy with this unit so far.
