Weatherproof Design and Construction

This Jeep top is made of factory-grade materials that are designed to shield you and your Jeep's interior from inclement weather. In addition, the top is outfitted with heat-sealed seams and marine-grade, molded-tooth zippers that help prevent water from seeping in.

Simple Storage Solutions

Rampage Complete Soft Top Storage Bag

A durable storage bag is included to keep all of the soft top's components organized and neatly stowed after it has been removed. The canvas bag is designed to hold the fabric of the top as well as the hardware. Just unzip the bag, lay the removed window panels flat in the bottom of the bag, and pile the rest of the soft top in after. Then zip the bag back up and stow it in your Jeep's rear cargo area.

Rampage Complete Soft Top Corner Storage PocketRampage Off Road Organizer

This complete kit also provides tools to help keep you organized on the road. Two zippered, mesh pockets let you stow small items above the driver's seat and the passenger's seat. And the folding, off-road organizer supplies you with a place to keep your manual, maps, and other paperwork so that you don't have to dig through your glove box to find them. It also has built-in pockets for small tools, such as a wrench or a flashlight.

Installation

As with any Jeep soft top, the fabric should be laid out in the sun prior to installation so that the material can warm up. Once the material is warm to the touch, you can more easily stretch the top over your vehicle.

This kit includes everything you need for installation. Many of the components - windshield channel, side belt rails, tailgate bar, and so on - may line up with existing holes in your vehicle for quick, simple mounting. Some drilling, however, may be required. Once the base has been set up, you can begin to attach the soft top bows. When the skeleton is complete, stretch the top over the bow system and attach it per the included instructions.

Video Transcript for Rampage Complete Jeep Soft Top Kit Review

Today we'll be taking a look at the Rampage line of Complete Soft Top kits for Jeeps. These are available in a wide variety of different colors, with and without tinted windows. See etrailer.com for your desired color. This is going to fit your Jeep YJ and your Jeep Wrangler, 1987-1995. Upgrade your Jeep top with this all-inclusive soft top kit. It comes with soft upper half doors, clear vinyl windows for the front, side and rear, removable side panels, a rear tire cover so you can cover up behind the back seat and a roll up feature for the rear window. For that 'cool breeze in your hair' feeling, the top folds down in one piece. It even comes with a convenient canvas storage bag to hold your soft upper doors and vinyl windows when not in use.

With the top up and the windows out, you and your 'squeeze' can feel the breeze without all those harsh UV rays. The heat sealed seams and heavy duty zippers help keep out water. The interior mesh pockets provide storage for the driver and passenger side. As an added bonus. Rampage has included a canvas tool pouch. Now, that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed on the Jeep.

Before we install our windshield channel, you'll notice that our holes are pretty stripped out, so we're going to go ahead and fill those in with some high-performance Loctite gasket maker, part number LT37467. When we do install our new channel, we're going to make new holes. Since our old holes are stripped out, I've gone ahead and drilled new holes in my windshield channel and I'm going to use it as a template to mark out my 1/8 inch holes that I need to drill in the top of my windshield channel here. I'm just going to mark those and get those nice and lined up. Then we can take our drill and drill those out with our 1/8 inch drill bit.

Then we can replace our windshield channel. Make sure that the holes line up nicely, grab our included hardware and start screwing that down in to place. I'm going to start right here in the middle and work my way out. That way I know it sits evenly. In some instances, if the included hardware doesn't work, you can use your old windshield channel bolts to hold it down, as you can see, we did here. Our next step is to install our windshield uprights.

You'll need to make sure and have the correct side. This is the driver side here. You can see how it's going to fit nicely around the windshield, so just make sure. If you need to, you can drill out your 1/8 inch holes, but in this case it's going line up with our pre-existing holes here. We're just going to take our included hardware and put that in place. I'm just going to start right here in the middle and work my way around. Once we get this one in position, we'll run over to the other side and repeat that same step. The next step is to install our belt rails. You'll need to make sure and grab the correct side. We've got the driver side here. What that's going to do is going to sit on the side of the Jeep, just like this. We're going to use our pre-existing factory holes, as you see here. Keep in mind, everything we do here, we're just going to repeat the same step on the other side. We'll grab our hardware. It's going to look like this, and we're going to go in this exact order as you see here. We'll grab our hex nut. We're going to go through the hole with the washer. Put this so that portion is facing downward, as you see there, and we're just going to get that started. Then, we'll just repeat that for our remaining holes. Now that we've got all these hand-tightened, let's go ahead and tighten them down. I'm going to start here in the middle here and just work my way out. Then our corners, the exact same way. Now on to our tailgate brackets. They're going to go just like this. If the holes aren't big enough for our included hardware, you'll need to drill them out. The way that the hardware's going to go, is we'll grab our Phillips screw, then, we'll put the star washer on, followed by our regular washer. We'll put our tailgate bracket in place. We'll put our screw through with all the hardware and then, finally our lock nut. Now, we've got that hand-tightened, let's go ahead and tighten it down. Now, we can go ahead and grab our bow assembly and we want to lay it out to identify the front and rear. The front is going to have the foam padding, as you see here. We've got it laid out exactly how it's going to go on the Jeep, that is. We'll grab our connection tubes and we're going to connect the bow assembly together. It's got these D-tents in it, so it should just be able to slide in and snap in to place. There we go. We'll just do the same thing here for the rear. Now, we can go ahead and set our bow system in to place. It's not a bad idea to get an extra set of hands. When we get it up in to position, we're going to slide our bow system brackets, which are going to be these right here, in to this channel right here. This is our side belt rail. We'll put one in front of the other and then, work our way down, just like that. Now, we can work our whole bow assembly towards the front of the Jeep. Once we get it past this hole here, we can insert our side rail pins just to make sure it doesn't come back on us. Just secure that, push it all the way down. As we work our bow assembly towards the front of the Jeep, we can raise up our upright rail. We're going to clip it on this pin here, just like that. Once it's on there, we can slide this slide back to lock it in place, just like that. We can come back and locate our adjustable spreader bar. That's going to be this right here. We'll want to raise that in place, take the pin and go ahead and insert that to lock it in place. While you can see it, I want to point out the adjustable tensioner. That's going to be this right here. That's so you can adjust your top on those hot sunny days. You just simply pull the pin our here and then, adjust it left or right to tighten or loosen. When installing our fabric top, you'll need to have your adjustable spreader bars lowered. Let's go ahead and remove that pin and lower them down like that. This is going to make it a little bit easier to drape that top over and connect your buttons. The snaps just fold around the bow system and then button in to place. We're going to go all along the rear bow and then, do the same for the front bow. Next, we can bring the top over and we're going to insert this plastic portion here in to the front windshield channel. We can come back to the corners of our Jeep and we're going to do, essentially, the same thing. We're going to tuck this in underneath our side rail corner brackets. We're just going to bring it down, and you'll need to pull on it with a little bit of force so you can get underneath there, and tuck it underneath, just like that. Just work your way around the corner and tuck it underneath the groove. Then, we can go ahead and snap our spreader bars back in place, raise them up, reinsert the pin and then, there you go. Next, we can grab one of our quarter windows. We'll need to get the horizontal and vertical zipper started; about 4-6 inches over and then, up. You'll need to make sure and tuck that reinforcement plastic up underneath the top there. Once we get that started, we can go ahead and tuck in the bottom flap underneath the channel here, and the same with the front right here. We'll just work our way down; make sure it's all secure. You can always push up on it, like this. Then, we can finish up on our zippers. Now, we can attach our rear window. You want to make sure that both zippers are all the way down on the right side here; our passenger side. Then, we're just going to line up our zipper right here and then, zip it up. Then, we'll work our way, all the way around. We're not going to leave it all the way zipped up just yet, so we're going to stop right there for now and then, we're going to come over here to the other zipper and bring it up to the top, right about here as well. We've got our tailgate bar and we'll need to slide our tonneau cover on to this portion right here. The best way to do it is go ahead and fold it up about like this. That way the plastic portion can slide through and that the fabric is going through the center of the channel like that. We're just going to work that down; we're going to all the way down. Flip it back like this and slide it on to the rear window; slide that all the way on. Then, we can tuck that tunnel cover inside like that. Then, we can clip this plastic portion on to our tailgate brackets. We can just tuck the rest of our tonneau cover up underneath the body here. Once we get it in there nice and secure, we can go ahead and finish zipping up our window. Then, we'll tuck our flaps in underneath the tailgate bracket, just like that. Next, we'll take our weatherstripping and we're going to clip it on the top portion of our tailgate right here. See, it's got a groove like that, so we'll just slip that on and work our way down. Once you get it somewhat started, you can go back and finish pushing down to secure it. Once we get to the end, we can cut off some of that excess. All right. It will create a nice tight weather seal for us. To affix our tonneau cover, we're going to go ahead and grab the strap. As you can see, I've got it nice and level with the other strap. That way, when we finally do get it down, we can go ahead and tighten it up accordingly. I'm going to go ahead and lay it down in my wheel well so I can make sure that it's nice and straight. I'm going to pull it so it's tight. Then, I'm going to drill out my hole. When drilling out your hole, you just want to make sure that there's no electrical or anything underneath. We can grab our Phillips screw and screw that down through the hole. That will allow us to pull our tunnel cover tight. Now we can fasten the snaps above our doors. They're adjustable, so we'll just put them where they need to be and then, snap them in place. I found it was easier to go ahead and bring the top down and fold it upward, like that, and then, push it on to the fastener, just like that. We're going to do that along the whole side and then, repeat that same thing on the other side. The last thing we need to do is go ahead and install there upper half of our door. Align the pins up here with the holes in our door and just push down, just like that. Then, here on the outside of the door, we're going to need to tuck our channel in to right here. We'll work our way all the way up. When tucking this channel in, it can help if you keep the hook and loop on the inside loose. That way you can pull the fabric down. After we get that channel tucked in, last thing we need to do is go ahead and snap that on our snap here. The kit does come with a snap if you lose yours or if it's not on the door. We'll just tighten up our hook and loop, here on the inside and then, we're done. That's going to complete today's look at the Rampage line of complete soft-top kits for Jeeps.

Great shipping and easy order! Installed easy peasy lemon squeezy

The hardware was a fairly ez installation. The track above the windshield was already installed, but otherwise the actual top was somewhat difficult, still have one snap not done as it is 1/8" too short to reach. If you intend to install this on long, dreary, winter day, forget it. You WILL need a bright and warm sun to "relax" the material to be able to get the sides affixed in the side track. Overall, it does not appear tight in the rear corners, though adjusted correctly to the maximum. I have a Rampage on a 2nd jeep (black, not spice) and it is nice and taught.
