Video Transcript for Mount: WeatherTech All-Weather Rear Floor Mats on a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I'm Matt with etrailer, and today we're talking about the WeatherTech All Weather Floor Mats in the back of our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now these'll be our second row options and they're gonna be a great fit for you if you're looking for something that's gonna add a lot more protection to the back and you're looking for something that's gonna be really easy to clean. Especially if you have a lot of kids coming back and forth with muddy shoes after playing outside. This is gonna help keep things a lot more clean. So let's check 'em out. If we look underneath, we can see how this is held in place.

So we're gonna have this hole right here, and what that's gonna do is it's gonna fall down and grab onto this built-on anchor point at the bottom. But also to assist this from sliding around, we're gonna have these nibs, they go all the way across, that help grab onto your carpet on your floor. So this really gives you a pretty snug fit, especially the way this contours- (mat dome pops) around our floor on the bottom of our vehicle. Now we're gonna have a little bit of sidewalls. They're not gonna be too notable, but it is still nice to have.

And inside we're gonna have these channels. These channels are actually pretty deep, so when your feet are resting in the center, they're gonna be high up above any of the debris, water or anything like that that falls within these. Right now, it may not look like we're getting a whole lot of coverage in the front, but that's just because we have our seat all the way scooted up. So realistically, this is gonna be a lot further back so your feet won't be getting much more past this point. And this is gonna be a tight fit too, once you have it over here.

And that's one of the benefits to this design is because how flexible it is. So getting this in here, (mat slaps down) try to help maneuver around your seat and the contour of our vehicle is gonna be really easy. The counterpoint to that is, when you do have a spill in here, (mat dome pops) trying to lift up on this- (mat dome pops) can be kind of difficult because as you can see, it doesn't really hold its shape. So lifting it up like this could help pour or could have that spill pour out and fall back into your vehicle. This will give you an idea of how flexible these are.

Just me going like this, it's already bending, super easy. This is all these pros and cons that I've talked about, but let me compare it to the other option from WeatherTech. For the other seat, rear liner, this, it still has some flex to it, but it is not nearly as much. It's a lot more rigid. There's some pros and cons to this. This exact one is also gonna have this center that's covered too, though we don't get to have the all weather option. And that's actually gonna be a big plus because having that center, especially when you do have kids back there, is gonna help keep your vehicle a lot more clean. The counter offer to that is since this is all one big piece, trying to take this all out at once is probably just gonna be pretty difficult and you're probably gonna have some spills falling back into your vehicle. So that's something to think about when you are weighing your options for different floor mats. Clean, this is also pretty easy. I left some marks on here earlier, so you can see some of it, and even with my finger, I can take off a majority of that. Now this is something that's a little bit more light duty, so for more of your heavy duty scenarios, you can just take this out, get a wet rag, wipe off a lot of that, or just hose it down and then just let it dry outside and you'll be able to pop it back inside your vehicle. Overall, if you're just looking for something to help give you more coverage in the back of your seat because you do have those kids coming in and out of here, you wanna keep this a lot more clean, it's gonna do that too. And especially with how easy this is to take in and out of the vehicle, that's definitely gonna be a plus.
