Video Transcript for Install: WeatherTech 2nd Row Rear Auto Floor Mat on a 2012 Toyota Highlander

Today in our 2012 Toyota Highlander, we're going to show you the WeatherTech front auto floor mats in black, part number WT441151. Aside from black, this is also available as tan as part number WT451151, and also as gray as part number WT461151. This is what the floor liner looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. All right, this sole liner covers from the edge of your threshold here all the way up to the center console. This also provides coverage from the very front edge of the seat all the way underneath the pedals. It also follows the factory carpeting, probably about three quarters of the way. A little bit closer inspection, you can see it actually gives you provision for your gas cap.

It also uses the factory attachment points. All right, we'll take a look at the surface here. You can see it actually has the built in ridges and channels. If you've got mud or water on your shoes, they'll drain onto this and protect your carpet underneath. When you go out to the edges, you can see it has a raised edged all the way around to contain any liquids.

Now if we look here, it covers up the vast majority of the foot rest here and of course it goes behind the pedals. You've got plenty of room to operate those guys. That's it for our driver's side, let's go ahead and take a look at the passenger's side. You can see it has the same protection from front to rear as well as left to right. We're going to take a closer look at the construction of it. On top here, you can see it has a little bit of texture to it.

That'll give your shoes some grip so you're not moving around so much on the floor. Just underneath this layer here is another layer that gives it it's strength and this also keeps it completely waterproof from your carpet below. Third layer underneath is this material right here. It looks like a smooth finish, but it actually has a little bit of grip to it or texture and that will work with the factory carpet. When you put these in, you want to make sure you remove any preexisting liners or carpet, otherwise these will not fit correctly. One other thing to note, is that you'll notice there's some gaps between the floor liner and the kick panel and some other areas.

That's because we got ours fresh out of the box and we just laid them in place. When you leave them in the vehicle in the summer time, in a few hours they'll actually mold themselves a little better to the vehicle. Also, in the winter time, you can leave it in a warm garage overnight for a few nights, this will also actually match up to the carpeting too. Okay. Whatever time you need to clean them, they're easy to do. Just go ahead and hose them off, use some soap and maybe a soft brush, hose them down, allow them to dry and they go right back in your vehicle.
