How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the WeatherTech Cargo Mat on the 2023 Audi Q5. So, WeatherTech uses a laser measuring system in order to custom fit the mat to the back of your vehicle. What that does for you, it gives you a pretty tight fit. However, this one's new out the packaging, you can kind of see it's curling up a little bit. I had some weight on it for a little while, but you know, it's the, it's pretty cold and it's pretty stiff. During the summer months, and when the back of your vehicle warms up, I'm sure that'll help it lay out.

Also, if you're in a sunny area, if you we're to lay it in the sun, it'll relax and lay flat. The material itself is a tri-layer, extruded plastic, and essentially what that does for you, gives you nice stability. So it's not gonna rip or scratches easily, and it also gives you a little bit of traction as well. Generally, that benefits you on the floor mats, but if you ever happen to crawl into the back to access the rear seat, who knows, it may be helpful. Overall, it's a really solid mat as far as the ones that we carry, because it's gonna be the one that's most custom fit to this vehicle.

So our textured surface is gonna give you additional traction to hold in your bags, like, so if you have cloth, grocery bags or if you have anything else that could slide around, it'll help everything stay stable in the rear. You have a nice high wall around the side to contain any messes that may happen. If you have a, you know, anything that happens with groceries, who knows how life is, we all know. Only thing I can say is a negative, this lower point here, it does slope down with the contour of the vehicle. However, that's a lower ridge.

So if you do have a spill, this may be an area where you may get a little bit of stain. However, the mat will overall contain everything, so, you know, it's a pretty decent fit. Personally, I like WeatherTech as a brand. I think they're really solid quality. If I had to point out any drawbacks of this particular mat, is the fact that, if you have something longer that you get from the hardware store, you wouldn't be able to necessarily protect the backs of your seat, with the mat.
