Video Transcript for Road Comfort Front Middle and Rear Floor Mats Review - 2019 GMC Yukon XL

Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer and today we have a 2019 GMC Yukon XL. Now, we're going to do a test fit of these Road Comfort custom auto floor mats. Now I'm going to go ahead and get the driver's side installed for you guys just so you can see how to get them in place. These are going to be really nice, all-weather floor mats that are a great replacement for those carpeted floor mats that you get with your Yukon. What's nice about the driver's side, in particular, is that it does come with the anchor points right here, just like on the factory floor mat where you can anchor it down right there, prevent it from moving around. So, we'll just get that snapped into place.

This is only going to be on the driver's side. If we get those anchored in, you can see it's locked into place very nicely.It lines our driver's side very well, protects our carpet floorboard from any type of mud, dirt, debris, so you can easily keep your floorboard looking nice. Now, in this kit, you're going to get a floor mat for both the driver and passenger side floorboards. You're also going to get middle row and rear row mats. They're all going to have the same construction, they're just going to be shaped differently for the areas they're supposed to fit and we'll show you those mats in a little bit.

I want to look a little bit more at this driver's side mat first. Now, like I said, we do have those anchor points that are keeping it in place. On the bottom side, we do have a lot of these nibs and this is going to be on all of the mats that come in your kit. They dig into the carpeted floorboard and help keep the mat in place.Now, with the driver's side, there's a couple of features that are unique to it. One of them being that we have this reinforced pad right here where your heel is going to sit while you're driving.

Now, what's nice is that a lot of times a floor mat manufacturers will make these mats and they'll say that this is reinforced, but then if you look at the bottom side, it's very hollow, which, if we look at this bottom side, it does kind of look like that at first. So, that's the first thing I thought was, "Oh man, it's one of those manufacturers that just hollows it out." By actually feeling it, just trying to grip it with my hand on the other side of it, it is actually reinforced so it is going to help out with wear and tear the more you drive around. So, they're going to be around for a long time.The second thing that's nice about the driver's side mat is that it does have this nice cutout right here where this flap can go over our footpad right there where our left foot would be sitting and it protects it as well. Over here on the passenger side, again, you can see they did a great job of getting it measured to line the contours of our floorboard, give us that ultimate protection of the floorboard. Now, just for a comparison, I want to grab the old factory carpet mat.

This is something you guys don't want to do. You don't want to stack mats while you're in your vehicle. This is just for comparison purposes. You can already see the Road Comforts' giving us a lot more coverage. We get more coming back towards the seat. We get more when we go up top and see if we're getting that additional coverage up there.If a taller person is sitting in here and their feet come up, you're not going to have to worry about your floorboard up there getting dirty and what's nice is that, personally, I think having the black floor mat as opposed to the carpeted one which matches the floorboard of our Yukon is a little bit better because you can see where your feet have been. You can clearly see where you need to get your feet so that you don't get your floorboard dirty. And these are much easier to clean than the carpeted floor mats. Another thing I like about the Road Comforts mats is that they all have these nice deep grooves. This is going to help divert water from your feet and other debris and this is going to be a lot deeper channels than you would see on some other all-weather mats like some WeatherTechs or Husky Liners.So, it's going to hold a lot more in there to make sure you don't get that on your carpeted floorboard. Now, I'd always recommend if there's a lot of water in there, you do want to be careful when trying to remove it from your vehicle. A little tip, if you have water in here, what you can do is kind of fold it like so. Keep the water in the middle and then just kind of slide it out of your Yukon. Little tech tip for you guys when you're trying to clean up. Now, in our middle row, we get two mats as well. One goes in the passenger side and one's going to go on the driver's side. They are slightly shaped differently, so make sure you're getting the correct mat in the correct spot. Again, same construction. These actually have a rubberized thermal plastic construction.It's actually more of an elastomer construction and basically what that means is that sometimes you get thermal plastic formats that are really stiff. The elastomer part of it just helps it be more flexible so that they're much easier to clean and they stay flat for a longer time. A lot of times those stiffer floor mats can misshape over time, especially if you have the sidewalls where they just start folding in. You're not going to have to worry about that with these mats.Now, what's nice about the middle row mats is that they reach up underneath the seat a lot more than the carpeted mats. The carpeted mats just cut off about right here. So, if anyone we're to stick their feet even remotely under the seat, it would dirty up that floorboard. With the Road Comforts, you're not going to have to worry about that. Again, they're going to be very easy to clean if someone we're to get their feet under your seat.Now, with the third-row seats, these are actually going to sit underneath our middle row as well. So, I'll flip this seat up just to show you guys. With that back row having just a little bit of space, you get the coverage up here where the feet are going to be and then times where maybe you need to flip the seats up and just want to have people sitting in the back, then you have all this coverage as well. Now, one thing I do want to point out is that you are going to have to cut out these parts of this part of the floor mat. It is perforated to let you know that. So, when you first get it, cut out those blocks right here and then you're going to be able to flip that seat down without interfering with the floor mat.Now, I'll go ahead and flip up this seat as well so that you guys can get a good look at the entire mat right here. It's actually going to be two different pieces that merge together at this center part right here. I'll show you guys by flipping this back. We have the tabs right here and then right here you have the slots that they go into. You'd want to push on that down to get it installed and connected. So, that's nice that it overlaps right there. One thing I do want to point out is that you see we have another cutout right here. This is for if you have the bucket seats in the middle row of your Yukon and not the bench seat like we have right here. If you have the bucket seats, all you would do is cut this one out and then over here you would leave this one in place. So, they just want to make sure they don't have to make two separate mats for it. You just want to make sure you cut it out for the specific fit on your Yukon.Another thing I think is really good that this extends so far under the middle seat is that if you've got kids, you know that they can get crumbs everywhere. So, when you're vacuuming out your Yukon, trying to clean it up, then the floor mats collect a lot of that stuff that gets down here under the seats, so it's not as much work for you to have to vacuum everything up. Now, one last thing I really like about our Road Comforts is that their heavy-duty construction is going to hold up for a long time. I know you guys can't just feel it right now, but this thing does have a good amount of weight to it, especially compared to our carpeted floorboard or even the smaller all-weather mats that I've worked with. Just dropping it on the table, you can really hear how dense it really is. I come over here to the carpeted one, pick it up, and drop it. It's not near as heavy or as dense, so you know that these Road Comforts are going to be around for a long time.Well, thank you guys for watching and I hope this information helped you out.
