Colin: Hey everyone, It's Colin here at etrailer, and today we're going to take a look at Road Comfort's line of their Custom Auto Floor Mats. Now, these are custom fit for your vehicle, just make sure you enter your year, make, model, in our fit guide on the website, and it'll lead you to the correct set of mats that are designed to fit your vehicle. This is a great all-weather mat, let's go ahead and get this installed onto our Ram 2500 right here, and we'll show you how it looks. Now, normally you want to make sure you remove your carpeted floor mat if you have one, or whatever other floor mat you might be replacing. But in this case, we're going to go ahead and leave it installed so you can kind of see the differences and the advantages you're going to gain from having the Road Comfort mat.So I'm just going to go ahead and set this on top, again, one is custom fit for our Ram 2500. You can see we're virtually getting the exact same coverage out of our Road Comfort as we are with our carpeted floor mat, with the exception of about an inch up top.

We're getting a little bit more of that carpeted floor mat, but I mean honestly, it's just the same material as our carpeted floorboard, so it's still susceptible to all that mud and other type of debris that you can get on it, and maybe even stain it to where you can't really get it clean and looking like it was when it was new. And that's one of the great things about these Road Comfort mats, they're a rubberized, thermal plastic construction. It's going to be very durable and thick, and it's going to be very easy to clean as well.They're also available in three different quantities, meaning that you can get just the front floor mats, you can get the kit, which would be the front and the rear floor mats for your vehicle like you see right here, or if you just need the rear mats. So let's say you already have a set of front mats but you just want to get something for the rear, you can get those as well. Just make sure you check out our website and make sure there's a fit.

And what's nice is that all of their driver's side mats are going to have this really nice thick area where your foot can sit while you're driving. So as I go back from brake to gas and back to brake, it's not going to wear down nearly as fast as a normal floor mat would, it's going to be very tough and durable. And it's also got a really nice non-slip surface, so if your feet are wet and you're going from gas to brake or brake to gas, you're not going to have to worry about your heel slipping out suddenly while you're driving.Like I've been saying, they are custom fit for your vehicle, so for our Ram right here that does have the cutouts for our stay-put hooks. So you can see as I try to move the mat around, it's not budging at all, that's thanks to those hooks. And also we have these nibs all on the back side of our floor mat, this is the same thing that you would have in your carpeted floor mat.

That's also just kind of getting a really good firm plant into the carpet to make sure that it doesn't shift around. Now, all of their floor mats are also going to have these really nice ridges right here, trace these valleys so that it's going to divert water, dirt and debris away from your feet, and keep your feet out from them so you don't drag them out of your truck and into your house. Just to show you guys, I'll go ahead and pour some water on there, just a little bit. You can kind of see how it's going to divert that water away and keep them in the channels.It makes it much easier to be able to get in and out without dragging stuff around. However, you do want to be careful if there's a lot of water on them, if you're going to move your format out, I would suggest maybe kind of folding it up, making sure you don't let any of this water or mud spill in your truck.

Now, we've gone ahead and just buried our floor mat in a bunch of mud and other debris just to show you guys how easy it is actually clean. Obviously you're never going to track this amount of dirt into your vehicle, but we just wanted to show you guys it's still easy with this amount of dirt. And depicted by the picture, we all know that just throwing stuff on top of it is not really going to do the job because obviously your feet are always moving on your floor mats. So really stomp it down in there, get it kicked into the cracks of our floor mat.So if you're ever in a situation where you have a ton of mud, dirt, and debris on your floor mats and you want to clean it off, just pull it out of your vehicle. And the first thing you want to do is take it to a grass area like this in your yard or something like that and get all the loose stuff off. We'll go ahead and just get all that off. You can kind of hit the back of it to try to get all that off. You can still see there's a good amount of mud and other debris on it, so we're just going to take it inside and wash it off.One you let it air dry, you can go ahead and just re-install it in your vehicle. You can see ours is still a little bit wet, but that's okay, it'll dry over time. Now, right here we have another floor mat to show you guys, this is our WeatherTech. We're in a different truck right now but it's the same year and model, so it's going to be the same fit for our Road Comfort that we'll show you guys in a little bit. But the owner of this truck with his WeatherTech floor mat gets a lot of use out of his floor mat, constantly dragging in dirt and debris. And he's doing a great job of protecting his floorboards as you can see right there. Now with the WeatherTech, the one thing I will say about it that it does a little bit better job of than the Road Comfort, is that we have these raised sidewalls right here that are protecting up here on our floorboards, and you can even see up here on the corner, our driver even just kind of let his foot slip over and get a little bit of dirt on the carpeted floorboard right there.Now I'll go ahead and set my Road Comfort right on top of the WeatherTech, just to show you guys what I'm talking about. Now, you can see with that WeatherTech like I said, you get those raised sidewalls right here to kind of help protect more upwards on your floorboard and you're also getting a little bit more out here. However, the Road Comfort still does a great job of covering a lot of that carpeted floorboard to make sure it doesn't get dirty. Now with the WeatherTech, this is something I would probably recommend for a person who maybe has a job where they're frequently and constantly bringing in dirt and debris, whether you're maybe a farmer, a construction worker, maybe even a landscaper.They're going to be easy to clean as well, just like our Road Comforts are. Now, with the Road Comfort, this is something where if you're not always dragging in dirt and debris but you want to protect your carpeted floorboards from mud, snow, stuff like that, but you're not really looking to kind of upgrade into the WeatherTech area, then the Road Comfort is going to be a great option for you. Now we're back to our original truck, and I just want to kind of go over more of what these are made of. They are a thermal plastic construction just like the WeatherTechs, but they have more of an elastomer construction, meaning it's just more rubber, so it's more flexible as you can see. Those WeatherTechs are a little bit stiffer and they can harden over time. With the construction of these, you're not going to have to worry about them cracking, or fading, or hardening over time due to extreme temperatures.
