Video Transcript for Review of Performance Tool Work Lights - Under Hood LED Light Bar - PT67RR

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com where we're taking a quick look at the under hood work light. This is going to be a great addition to your garage to make sure that you can always see what you're doing, even if you don't have a lot of lights in your garage, or maybe they're just not really placed in a way that you can see under the hood. And a lot of times it's just hard to get in there and see what's going on. A lot of things that are close together, especially with newer cars, so having a light that's right above you, it's going to make it a lot easier to see where you're going. Maybe be able to see any hardware that you've dropped and so on.So there's a couple options as far as how you attach this to whatever you're trying to light up.

You've got some hooks on the side and on the back, and there's also magnets. So between those three, you should have a pretty good way to get this where you need it to be. It is a lithium battery that it comes with a charger, so it should last you a long time. And it does give you two options, as far as the brightness. You have either high or low, so we'll take a look and see the difference. Now, the attachments, we've got these little claws in the side, and if you take these off, they're connected to a retractable steel cable.

So that makes it really flexible. That's best if you put it in the little notch here so that it has a nice place to rest, and then do the same thing on the other side. And now it can go and rest on the edge of your hood. Or if you're trying to do something in the interior, you can put this on the outside of the vehicle. It is going to point straight down. There's not really a way to adjust where this is turned.

It just free floats on this cable. So that's one thing that's good and bad. I would prefer if there was a way to direct the light a little bit more deliberately. If you do want that, you can use these hooks, which do give you a little bit more deliberate turning of the light itself, but you're also limited to this amount of width, and it has to be something that you can hook these around. So our third option is to use the magnets.

Again, got to be attaching it to something that's magnetic, something metal, but between those three, you should be able to get this hooked up in a spot that'll make it easier to see what you're doing inside the engine. So to get these back on there, it's kind of weird. You just have to find a good spot for that little split ring to go, and then smush them back on there. So it's maybe not the most elegant design, but seems to be relatively effective. Now, as far as the brightness, got a button right here to turn it on and off. So I'm going to turn it on and I'll turn off my studio lights. So this is high. Hit it again, that goes down to low. It does a pretty good job of illuminating pretty well. I know it's hard to tell through the camera, but this is again on low, and I can see it pretty well, holding it up at arms length. Put it up to high. Not a huge difference between those two settings. Oops. So just taking a look at that and looking at it again, you can tell the difference between them. So you have that adjustability between those two settings. The output in lumens for the high is 513 for the low it's 256. It has a run time of one and a quarter hour solid, and that is at the low setting I believe. And the beam distance goes about 196 feet. Intensity is 920 inaudible 00:03:51 millicandela, which is a fancy way of a million candles. It does come again with the cord to charge it. This is about a two foot cord, so probably not long enough to plug it in while you're using it, but enough to charge it up, so it's ready to go whenever you need it to be. As far as measurements, give you a couple quick ones here. So the light itself, it's about 16 inches long, and then about two and a quarter by about one and a half. That's pretty much it for a quick look at the under hood work light. I hope that this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right choice for you.
