The product went together without any problems and it was pretty much set explanatory. Fit is great and the tailgate shuts very easily. This was installed on my 2017 Ram 3500. The truck is brown and the black tailgate blends in very well.
After I installed this tailgate, I can never go back to the original! The photo speaks for itself. East assembly with no adjustment for proper fit. Installed on 11-1 more than 10 compliments on 11-2. A must have even if you don’t have a 5th wheel..

DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Dodge Trucks
Relatively easy to install. 1st timers should allow atleast 30 mins. In operation: Just pop the tailgate handle & let-go the tailgate opens nicely w/o your assistance. (note: light weight Ram gate) On Installation: the nut assembly, for the tailgate empty hole insertion, may need just a tap w/a hammer to enter the hole; I know I had to tap it. Finally, I hope the spring clips in the ball joint of the pump hold up under regular use... time will tell. Also, the clear protective mylar? If, it's the 3x5 piece of paper I found in item box; I couldn't peel it. Satisfied & thanks! Rob

DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks
This product was purchased for its safety. Many times when my wife was opening the tailgate she found that it was hard to control it as it opened. For me it was not a problem but she loves. Along with the electric lock its been a nice upgrade.
Installs easy, but I’ve still not found a way to let the tailgate to open smoothly but those summers does help the tailgate from slamming down. I actually feel like the children is harder to lift but that was my concern it was the drop. Seems like the cylinder in the tailgate in the frame there’s just not enough room for everything and I’ve tried numerous things that I just can’t get it to open smoothly and the tailgate work perfectly before I started this overall accomplished what I want I just have to talk to tell you a couple times to get it to release

I thought it was a metal tailgate not plastic. the insert on right side pivot point broke immediately. request new part and explanation of how it is inserted.
Very Nice! The installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. The tailgate itself took a little time to loosen up and start moving freely but did. I’m very happy with the purchase!

Tailgate word perfectly for my needs, I live in northwestern New Mexico and use it spring to fall for 5 th wheel convenience during hookup and dropping trailer. The light weight and v shape eliminates much of the fear of baking normal tailgate into trailer. I don’t have to drop tailgate to hook up. Was difficult to sand rubber inserts to fit on initial install but I got it done, also doesn’t provide theft deterrent from bed as the v opens enough for hand to reach latch on by backflip tonneau cover however I knew that would be the case before I purchased. I am totally satisfied with my tailgate.
Worked great! A few times it was difficult to get latched. It would latch after four attempts or less. I checked to make sure it was properly aligned. It was. I would suggest this product to others. Have sold the truck now! Upgraded to a newer one. Thanks

Great product, I should have bought this years ago. I installed it on a 6 1/2 x 12' trailer. I'm using 1 spring on the left and 2 springs on the right for the correct balance. I did have to get longer bolts for the round bar. The videos on site are great.

Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Chain - 200 lbs
Received the product. Thanks for the speedy shipping. I have installed the product and am very pleased with it's operation. It was very easy to install . Since it was placed on my trailer's side gate, I only had to make one small change. I drilled two mounting holes into the gate bracket and mounted it with the adjustment holes on the outside in order to keep the lift chain straight on it's sprockets. (shown in picture). I had to purchase nothing extra for the double barrel lifter and it works great. Friends are already commenting on it and getting the order info from me. More will come when the snow and ice clears.
I am very pleased with this product. I have installed this on my split tailgate and it works flawlessly. I have another trailer with the gorilla tailgate assists on both sides. I would pick the RA-27C double barrel over the gorilla springs, hands down. I have included some pics to help anyone else with a split tailgate. This is what I came up with and it works great!

TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket- A Tight Tailgate Seal
I ordered the TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket for my 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum which has a power tailgate. The install took about 15 minutes and appears that it will do a good job of sealing out dust and snow. The kit had good instructions and contained more than enough material. After installation the tailgate closed and locked with a push of the button. When installing make sure you have everything lined up the way you want as the adhesive will not let you reposition the gasket.
I used this to seal around my Ridgeline dual action tailgate. I already had installed a backflip hard folding cover. The seal works great. I now get a very small amount of water in the bed in a hard rain

Love the look. East to install. Needed to use my old cables and had to buy some fasteners and washers to attach the cables and also had to buy the hinge bushings. But for the price and the quality I am very happy.

Extang MaxSeal Tailgate Seal - 10' Long
The seal works very well on my 2018 Silverado, with the exception of the area near the top of the tailgate, where there is just not a good way to seal it. Not the fault of Extang tape, so I sealed almost all the way to the top and I never have any issues with dirt or rain getting in. I would buy this product again.
I don't know what other pickups are like but Ford didn't do anyone any favors with all the curves in the tailgate. Have said that I followed the directions exactly and got a good seal except for the bottom corners. So I took the little bit of extra and put a piece in each corner (picture) and that pretty much took care of the gap. I have a 2019 F-150.

It works fine. Sometimes it gets stuck and doesn't want to unlock but I finally get it. Other than that it's fine. I wish it had a place for the backup camera. I was able to drill a hole and make it work. Other than that I'm happy with it. I would buy another one.
Quite straight forward to install. Good bang for the buck if you don't need much weight loaded on the tailgate. Used with the Husky Backup Camera Relocation Kit on my 2013 F-150. Simple mod to the camera kit (cut off lower wire cover and use longer screws to attach to gate where you want it.) Camera is wide angle enough that placement isn't that critical.

Fast shipping w/tailgate arriving well packaged. Easy install, okay instructions but product came with no bolts for mounting bottom brackets that allow you to attach tailgate to truck. Per spec sheet, none were to be included which I find odd. Also, just an FYI, it also does not include the tailgate support cables (not supposed to). So just be aware that if you don't want to take the ones off your current tailgate you will need to order a set of these. Overall pleased with purchase and would recommend.

2016 Chevrolet SilveradoThis tail gate is very good. It fit perfectly on my 2016 Silverado 3500. The only issue I have is the locking mechanism does not always release. That can be easily resolved with a screw driver or keys. It is an annoyance but other than that it is a good value for the product.
Tail gate is ok the Curt plate and A20 fifth wheel hitch are amazing! Lori in customer service is awesome!!!!

Hello etrailer staff! My tailgate arrived in a timely fashion but the journey was hard on the box and packing inside the box. UPS beat up on the box to the point of some of the contents are still in a truck or warehouse. I called etrailer and spoke with Noah. He assured me that he would get the missing parts in the mail and I would have all I needed to mount my tailgate. Noah was good to his word. Parts arrived today and the tailgate is mounted. The tailgate should be fine. Thank you Noah and all etrailer Staff. You did a fine job for me and my old 2001 Duramax Chevy.
Not happy with the quality of this gate. All plastic. Latch broke within the 1st week. etrailer did a great job getting me a new latch. Customer support was outstanding.

2003 Chevrolet SilveradoOne year ago I purchased this model tailgate for my 2003 Silverado. I found immediately that delivery of it as without exception the fastest. This tailgate made the act of hooking and unhooking from my 5th wheel trailer was simplified tremendously. The visual of the Pin lining up with the hitch was very clear. The Tailgate did require some minor assembly by me however minimal tools were all that was needed for the assembly. This took a mere 30 minutes for me to perform and the tailgate fit perfectly. It still looks great to this day and performs excellently. I recommend this product without reservation.

Today on our 2017 Ram 2500, we're going to be doing a test-fit on the Stromberg-Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate. Part number VGD-10-4000. The Stromberg-Carlson louvered tailgate is the perfect addition when towing a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer. As you can see it has that convenient cut-out that's going to improve visibility and reduce drag, and may improve your fuel economy. What makes this different than other louvered tailgates is it's locking design. That way no one can remove it from your truck.
Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate Installation - 2016 Ram 2500
Today, on our 2016 RAM 2500. We'll be having a look at the Stromberg Carlson 4000 series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with lock. Part number VGD-10-4000. Now, this tailgate is really nice for when you are towing a gooseneck or a 5th wheeled trailer. Lower it, back-up to your trailer, hook up and you can close your tailgate. As you can see with the cut-out here, you'll have plenty of maneuverability to get into tight positions if you're backing up your trailer or making tight turns. You don't have to lower your tailgate every time once you are already connected, once you need to make a tight maneuver. The vents here will allow airflow to pass through, so you're going to have some increase fuel economy while towing your trailer but yet still keep your materials inside the bed. Now our tailgates made of a very durable composite plastic material, which follows nicely to the lines of our truck bed.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ram 2500, we're gonna be installing Stromberg-Carlson's 100 series fifth wheel tailgate, part number VGD-10-100.Now this is what your tailgate's gonna look like when it's installed. As you can see it still matches the curves of the body of your vehicle. It will allow you to use a goose neck and still keep all of your cargo secure in the back of the bed of your truck. And when you're ready to load up the back of your truck, you'll want to push in on the tailgate to release some of the pressure, pull out on the release lever, and do the same on the other side. You can now lower it down and load up your cargo. Solid steel construction will make sure all of your cargo's nice and safe and it's got a black powder coat finish on it that will help prevent rust and corrosion.

What this is going to do is it's going to take the weight of your tailgate and slow it down and actually take the weight away from you and just allow the tailgate to slowly set down.We've all had those times when we are trying to open up the tailgate while carrying something and you can't hold the whole weight of the tailgate with one hand. Now you can see how much easier it is to open that tailgate and just let it drop and let the piston take the weight while you're still holding whatever you're holding. It's going to have a very low profile and non-invasive design, which is going to look really, really good when you close up your tailgate and you can't see it at all.When your lifting your tailgate into place it's going to have no resistance of when you're putting your tailgate back into closed position, but then when you see when you drop it it's going to take that weight and rest it easy.As you can see here, we do have a little bit of wear on the rubber coating on our cable and what will happen over time, that cable will begin to rust and if someone we're to drop your tailgate full force you could risk breaking those cables. Here you can see what we really enjoy about these fifth-wheel tailgates. You're going to have that drop-down. It's going to allow that fifth wheel or that gooseneck to pass over, allow you to make your connection without having to open and close the gate each time. Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ram 2500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series Fifth Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock, part number VGD-10-4000.The open design of our tailgate improves visibility and allows us to easily hook up to our gooseneck or a fifth wheel trailer in most applications without having to lower the tailgate. Now, one of my favorite things about this tailgate is how nicely it follows the contours of the body on our truck.One great feature about this tailgate is that it is lockable to help prevent tampering and theft. Once you have it locked, you can't turn the handle and you can't open the tailgate anymore. To unlock our tailgate, we simply reinsert the key, turn it back counterclockwise, twist our handle, and opens right up.Now even though our tailgate has a plastic construction and is extremely lightweight, contrary to popular belief, it can support up to 100 pounds of weight, making this ideal if we have a long load and we need to lay some lumbar down back over our tailgate in order to get it home.
