Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this PTC Custom Fit, Engine Air Filter. This air filter is going to help prevent any dirt and debris from entering into our engine. So it's gonna help keep it cleaner, and it's going to improve our vehicle's performance. This is a custom-fit, so it is going to work for your 2016 and newer GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado, with the 2.8 Liter I-4 Turbocharged Diesel Engines. This is a really simple thing to switch out.
So definitely something that you can do yourself. You don't have to pay a mechanic to do it for you, even if you've never worked on your vehicle before. This is a really simple installation process. So just, basically pull the original one out and then put this one in its place, in that orientation there. You've got these silicone sealing gaskets on the sides here that's going to prevent any air from escaping around the edges.
It's gonna force all that air through these paper pleats that are going to help, catch all that dirt and debris before it enters into your engine so, that you're gonna have that cleaner air going through. More oxygen helps to improve your acceleration and mileage on the backside. Here, we do have the diamond plating that's gonna help prevent any movement inside the housing, so it's gonna be nice and stable for us. So definitely something that you can replace yourself. The manufacturer does recommend changing the filter every 12,000 to 18,000 miles, or about once a year.
But of course, that is going to depend on your environment. So if you live on a gravel road or you're out in the desert, where you're gonna get a lot of dust, you might wanna change it out more frequently than that just to make sure that you're getting a good airflow. But for those of you who need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for your vehicle, it is going to be an exact replacement for the part numbers that you see on the screen there. So, if you're going through your owner's manual, you see any of those numbers, or you pull out the original or current filter and you see any of those numbers, you can trust this is, gonna be a great option for you. It's gonna fit right in place, do exactly what you need it to do.

Website led me to believe that this would work for my vehicle. That was not the case. CS said I could return it but I would have to pay for shipping costs, and sadly it would cost me more in shipping to return it than the item costed. Double check that this is the right one for your vehicle before purchasing as the website may not accurately direct you to the correct one, as it did for me.
Everything was shipped the day I ordered it. Filters fit like they should. The BW hitch fits great, is heavy duty and will probably be the last one I buy. Great job!

Shipping was extremely fast and of course customer service is absolutely top notch! The filter itself has almost the same color as a Fram filter and the filter material doesn’t look like anything special. It looks like a standard filter though when I start driving it around that will be the true test.
