Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the parallel accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar. Now, this accessory mounting plate will let you attach rooftop accessories to your Exposed Racks multifunction crossbar system. This is designed to work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers, or other rooftop accessories, and it can be secured in any hole on the multifunction crossbar.Does use this push pin system here. You just push the pin in to install it.
It allows for nice, easy one-handed installation. And also if you notice up at the top here, has this silicone washer all the way around, which will compress when it's attached to the crossbar to create a nice snug fit. It gives you quick mounting and removal. Makes it very easy to swap out your accessories daily. And I want demonstrate.
We're talking about the multi-function crossbar. So I pulled one of those, and this is the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar. It's a square bar, but you can see it has the holes all the way up and down. And that's for these accessories to clip into.So you just line your plate up here, push in on that pin, push it all the way through. And it locks in the plate.
Now you have the accessory mounting plate here to attach your rooftop accessories to. And also what's nice is if you notice when we installed here's that washer that's gives you a nice, strong snug fit there. Also, if you notice it does mount parallel on the crossbar, that's why we called this a parallel accessory mounting plate. It gives you a nice strong attachment point. And you might be wondering why you couldn't put it the other way.So in other words, if you've pushed down that and you wanted to put it perpendicular, well, it's actually not exactly a square pole there, so it won't go this way.
So it only go parallel this way or this way. Now, if you do want a bracket that does go perpendicular, we do sell those separately on our website. They do offer a perpendicular mounting plate. But again, these will just install parallel just like that. And the distance between the top of the crossbar and the top of the plate is about 1-1/8 inches. And again, just push it in to remove it, and slides right out, and you can put it in whichever hole you want. So it makes it real quick and easy. Now that mounting plate itself is a heavy duty carbon steel construction. Has a nice black powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion. If you notice the hardware I've installed in here that attaches your rooftop accessories to this plate, it is stainless steel mounting hardware. And this part is made in the USA. Few specs on this, the dimensions, you're going to be looking at 4-1/2 inches by 2-3/8 inches. And the channel width, these channels here that the bolts attached to is 1/4 of an inch wide. But that should do it for the review on the parallel accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar.
