Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at Etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this perpendicular accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multifunction crossbar. Now this accessory mounting plate lets you attach rooftop accessories to your Exposed Racks multifunction crossbar system. This is designed to work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers, or other rooftop accessories, and it can be secured in any hole on your multifunction crossbar. And I'm talking about this crossbar, I want to show you what we're talking about. Exposed Racks makes this multifunction crossbar right here, and you can see it has the many different holes in it.
And those holes are used to click in different accessories to use to carry stuff on top of your roof of your vehicle. And basically what this is, this does mount perpendicular on your crossbar, gives it a nice strong attachment point for any rooftop accessories.Basically what you do, it has a push pin system right here. Just put it in one of the holes, push that, and it will fall right into place. And it locks onto your crossbar, allows you to attach your rooftop accessories to your vehicle. And then if you go to move it, just push in on that push pin, move it to a different hole, like right along here.
And again, what's nice about it, it's a one-handed installation. You can just hold this, push in on the button, and it'll slide right in. And with the different holes along the bar, you can move it to whatever location you need for your application. Now, the reason they call this perpendicular. If you notice when it's installed, it runs perpendicular to the crossbar. This cannot be put in this way because these are actually not exactly square on this tube that goes into the crossbar.
It's actually a little bit wider on one side than the other. So it'll fit perpendicular this way, perpendicular this way, but it won't fit parallel. They do offer mounting plates that are parallel, that are designed to install that way. We do sell those separately on our website, but this one here is a perpendicular design. And again, just push the button, push it into place, you're ready to go. And what's nice is when this is installed, right underneath of here, this nice silicone washer, and when you push it in it compresses when it's attached and creates a nice snug fit.
So by using this, it gives you a nice, quick mounting and removal. Makes it very easy to move your accessories or swap it out for other things. Now, when this is installed on the bar, all the way down and locks into place, the distance from the top of the crossbar to the top of this accessory plate is one and one eighth inches. This accessory plate itself, it is made of a heavy duty carbon steel construction. Has a nice black powder coat finish on it to help resist corrosion. If you notice, I've installed the mounting hardware with this, it does include the stainless steel mounting hardware for use with the rooftop accessories. This part is made in the USA. I want to give you a few dimensions on this. If we measure, it's two and five eighths inches by four and a half inches, and the width of the channel widths right here that the mounting bolts go in there, it's a quarter of an inch. That should do it for the review on this perpendicular accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multifunction crossbar..
