Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this perpendicular accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar. Now, this accessory mounting plate lets you attach rooftop accessories to your Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar system. It is designed to work with rooftop cargo carriers, bike carriers, or other rooftop accessories. And this can be secured in any square hole on your multi-function crossbar.
I wanted to pull this crossbar just to show you what we're talking about. This is an example of their Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar. When we say multi-function, if you notice it has the holes in it all along there, and those holes are designed to accept these types of accessories.Basically, when you go to install this, it has this push pin system. You can see right down here at the bottom has this spring loaded pin. So you just put it into one of the holes, push it on that pin, and push it all the way through and it'll lock it into place.
And it does mount perpendicular. This actual tube on this plate is actually not square. It's a little bit longer on one side. So it won't install parallel. It'll only install perpendicular this way, or perpendicular this way.
Again, just push in. It locks into place. Now, the push pin system on it allows for nice, easy one handed installation, so you can just take your accessories and with one hand, just pushing on that pin, pushing all the way through, it's installed. And what's nice is, once it's installed right underneath here, up against the crossbar, it's a silicone washer, which are compressed when it's attached to create a nice snug fit. So this type of system with the push pin system gives you a quick mounting and removal, makes it easy to swap out. So if you want to move from that hole, let's say down to this hole, we just, again, push in on it, push it all the way through, and just like that, you've moved it to wherever you need it.Now, once this is installed all the way in, the distance from the top of the crossbar to the top of the plate, it's probably about one and one eighth inch height.
Now this accessory plate has a nice heavy duty carbon steel construction, has a nice black powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion. If you notice I've attached the mounting hardware, it includes the stainless steel mounting hardware for use with your rooftop accessories. This part is made in the USA. The specs on this, give you a few dimensions on this. The length on the plate is right at six and a half inches. Width on it is right about two and five eighths inches. The channels that the bolts go in, those are about a quarter of an inch wide. But that should do it for the review on this perpendicular accessory mounting plate for the Exposed Racks multi-function crossbar..
