Recommended Roof Rack for a 2005 Toyota Corolla Sedan

Updated 02/02/2025 | Published 01/26/2025

Question:

Hi, I have a Toyota Corolla CE 2005 Sedan and was wondering which roof rack you would recommend. I have been considering the Rhino Rhino-Rack 2500 but its not clear which Fitting Kit / Pad and Clamp Kit I need. Its also not clear if the kit would be included if I order from you. Many thanks in advance for your reply, I appreciate it. Best regards

Hey Juilus. The Rhino-Rack roof rack you're referencing is the Vortex Roof Rack for Ditch Mounts item # RR62NP. I strongly recommend going a different direction. This roof rack requires you to drill holes in your Corolla's roof.

Instead, I recommend the Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack for Naked Roofs item # Y75QB. This kit includes everything you need, including custom fit clips that attach the towers to the inside door jams of your 2005 Corolla. It is almost an identical set up but without the disadvantage of having to drill into your car's roof.

I have linked a review video below so you can get a quick walk-through of this roof rack kit. What accessories are you looking to use? If you need a recommendation, or any additional help, feel free to comment below.

Hi Jerred, Thank you for your reply! May I ask two follow up questions? 1) Does the item #Y75QB have keys so that the roof rack can't be stolen? 2) Is there an alternative item from Rhino Rack that I can use for the Toyota Corolla CE 2005 Sedan, without drilling? Many thanks!

@Julius You're welcome! Of course! 1. There are locks available for the Yakima item # Y75QB, they are not included. They are the Yakima Same Key System item # Y07204. A great perk of Yakima's products is you can buy larger lock core kits 6 item # Y07206 or 8 item # Y07208 and have the roof rack and other Yakima accessories all controlled by the same key. 2. There are no other Rhino-Rack systems available for your 2005 Corolla that do not require drilling.
