Leaf spring suspension generally costs less and is more basic but it does have components that will wear out and require replacing. The upside to that is the cost is lower whereas when torsion axles wear out you have to basically replace the whole thing. Torsion axles do offer better ground clearance since there isn't a beam that runs underneath the trailer as well.
