Why Does The Fuse On My Fogatti Tankless Water Heater Keep Blowing When I Connect It To 120V AC

Question:

Hello, my name is Matt and I have a 2022 Forrest River Wolfpack. It has/had a Suburban 6gal H2O heater. Model # SW6DE it says it is a direct current or a 120v AC unit. I purchased a Fogatti tankless H2O heater to replace it. Model #FS08B1 which is a 12v dc unit. I have connected everything according to the specs of the new Fogatti system. I have gone back and forth with the wiring and setups, Every time I turn on the system the crazy ass 10amp u glass fuse blows, Do i need to buy a step down converter or what do you suggest,?The tech departments for both companies lack quality personal, I appreciate any and all of your advise, Sincerely

AC current is about 10 times as much voltage as DC current so the fuse on your Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR is blowing to protect the unit. You'll need to cap off the AC wiring you have and run a new line to your DC distribution panel to power the unit. This will typically be built into your trailer's power center and would require you to remove it from the wall to get the wiring into the back of it to connect it to a fused port. If you aren't comfortable working with electric or don't want to run the wiring then I recommend reaching out to a local electrician to ensure that it's done correctly.
