Upgrading from PD9160A to the PD9160ALV for Use With Lithium Chemistry Battery Bank
Question:
Im upgrading from pD9160 to PD9160AL with lithium batteries. Assuming the current PD 9160 is correctly wired by the manufacturer, would I need to upgrade my wiring when installing the PD9169AL? If yes, which wires do I need to upgrade and to what gauge?

You are good-to-go. The Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger, # PD9160A that you currently have can be directly replaced with the # PD9160ALV model that is designed with lithium chemistry charging profiles. Each of these units are 12 VDC providing up to a 60-Amp charge for your battery bank. Providing your current set-up is properly matched in wiring to this 60-Amp rating, removing and replacing with the # PD9160ALV will not require you to replace charging cables to the battery bank. My recommendation is have at least 6 gauge wire for anything greater than 6 feet in length.
