Question:
Just ordered the A-iPower 2,000-Watt. I know it says to use 87 octane unleaded. All my small engines I run regular unleaded, ethanol free. What are your thoughts? Ethanol free a better choice?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I would follow the manufacturers recommendations of ethanol free 87 octane fuel, nothing lower unless operating above 5,000 feet, stay away from E85 altogether.
Type fuel for the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator, # 289-SUA2000i are:
- Clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline.
- Use regular UNLEADED gasoline, minimum of 87 octane.
- Do not use gasoline with more than 10% alcohol such as E85 or ethanol.
For high altitude (over 5,000 feet) operations an 85 octane rating is acceptable as the density of air at high altitude is lower than at sea level.
