What Is the Trailer Hitch Capacity for a 2014 Ford Explorer When Using Weight Distribution

Question:
My vehicle is a 3.5L non- turbo AWD with the full factory 52T towing package. Why does the factory Class III only show a label with a ‘Weight Carrying’ ratings stating 500/5000 and nothing written for a Weight Distribution rating?

I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2014 Ford Explorer and it states that if towing a trailer over 3,500 lbs, the use of a weight distribution system is recommended. That said, there is not an increase in weight capacity when using the weight distribution system for this vehicle.
If you don't already have a weight distribution system, the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution part # HT32215 is a great cost effective option that comes with the hitch ball already torqued down.
