Can 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 With 350 lb Tongue Weight Capacity Tow More Than That

Question:

I am planning on using my GLC300 to haul Airstream 16RB sport. GLC300 meets towing capacity of 3500 lbs for an Airstream that weighs 3000 lbs. Tongue weight limit for GLC is 350 lbs, however the hitch weight is 378 lbs on the airstream with 2LPG and water loaded Any recommendation? or is the GLC not recommended for towing the airstream. thank you

Expert Reply:

For your 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC300, you have to stay within the lowest-rated capacity to safely tow. Since your vehicle has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs you would not be able to tow a trailer with a 375 lb tongue weight, you have to stay under it or risk damaging your Mercedes.

When you do find a trailer within the capacity of your Mercedes, to tow it I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76082.

For the trailer hitch wiring harness I recommend the Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Installation Kit # 119190KIT.

I have added links to video installs of both parts for you to check out.
