Difference in Rola Roof Racks for 2012 Mazda 3

Updated 02/19/2020 | Published 02/18/2020

Question:

Im trying to figure out the difference between the 59833 and 59714 for a 2012 Mazda3. According to the specs, the 59833 has a higher load capacity. It also looks more aerodynamic. However, the MSRP is lower. Are there any other notable differences that are not obvious from the description?

The main difference between Rola Sport Series Roof Rack with AP-GTX Mounting System # 59833 and Rola APE Series Roof Rack # 59714 is the bars, and the overall look when installed.

The APE series has 47" long cross bars that extend past the feet. This can be a good thing if you want more room to mount any accessories, but it doesn't have the clean look of the Sport series.

The Sport series crossbars stop at the feet and give it factory like look. The downside to that is there is less available space to mount accessories. The front cross bar is roughly 43-1/4 inches and the rear crossbar measures approximately 42 inches, with about 34 -35" of usable space respectively.

I think both racks are a good option and it comes down to which one looks better to you. I attached a few photos customers have sent in of their Mazdas with the Rola roof racks installed so you can check them out.
