Installing Replacement Ring for Furrion 50 Amp Plugs

Question:
Great that you sell a replacement ring for the furrion 50 amp cord. The plastic one is crap and has split, tried to glue it back together but so far no luck. Now tell me how you would get the replacement collar on to the cord? It would be great if it were split with locking bolts or something, but I see no way to get it over the end of the cord?

I reached out to my contact at Furrion, because like you when I went out to our warehouse to play around with one of their 50 amp cords, I wasn't sure how the Replacement Ring # F50RNGSS could fit over the raised lips that are on either side of it when it's in place. My contact said that while there isn't a specific trick or method they recommend, the ring will indeed fit into its crevice.
He said it's really just a matter of wiggling it around and trying to pull it up over the front lip on the plug. It may take some trial and error to accomplish this. You can even use a small amount of lubrication to try and help slide it over.
If you continue to have trouble please just let me know and I will be happy to try and look into this further.
