Trailer Hitch Mounted 4 Bike Rack Recommendation for Use Behind a Camper Trailer

Im planning on using this on the back of my camper bumper hitch, I have a rear slide out on the camper. What is the distance from the hitch to the bike rack when extended to the side? The bike rack I currently use requires removal in order to operate the slide, it would be really convenient to swing the bikes to the side and operate the slide out.

There are only certain bike racks that can be used on the back of a trailer. I have included a link to the available options for you to view. The Thule Vertex is not rated for use behind a trailer. You will also want to be careful when using a bumper mount hitch for a bike rack. Be sure to check the capacity of the hitch against the combined weight of the rack and bikes.

Also, you will want to check the camper owners manual to determine if the bumper is rated for this purpose or if it has a different weight capacity than the hitch. Always go by the lowest rated component in the system.

For a trailer hitch mount 4 bike carrier, you can use # S64400, or # S64940. None of the trailer rated bike racks swing out so you will have to remove the bikes and the rack to operate the slide out.
