I was able to find some photos of the Ford OEM roof racks that were offered for the Explorer but I could not find one for the 2002 model year that was designated as the # 3 type. However, since that model year roof came with what we called raised roof side rails (that run front-to-back and that are elevated above the actual roof) this means that it is likely that your rack is designed to grip those raised rails.
The Inno part you referenced # INXR-6 is intended for a different type of vehicle roof, one with fixed mounting points rather than long side rails.
Please note that if the rack has lock cylinders, like the ones shown in the linked photo, these must be unlocked in order to remove the rack. If the keys are not available the lock core will have to be drilled out. It is a remote possibility that a dealership might have a master key. A local locksmith might be able to remove the rack without having to drill it.
If you can send along photos of the whole rack and a close-up of one of the legs that will help us.
