Recommendation to Replace 7.75-15 Size Tires on Hay Wagon
Question:
good morning I have an old mini hay wagon that we use around the farm. it has tires on it now that say 7.75-15 and in parentheses replaces 6.70-15 . this wagon does not get much use so I found a used set of 195-65/15 tires. will they fit my application? unfortunately I dont know the rim width off the top of my head. thanks for your help

A 195-65/15 size tire will be quite a bit smaller than the 7.75-15 size tires you currently have mounted on your hay wagon. To compare to what you have a 195/65-15 tire has a diameter/height of 25 inches and a width of 7.7 inches.
With a smaller size you will want to make sure that the new tires still have a combined load capacity that meets or exceeds the weight of your trailer. This information should be listed on the sidewall of the tire. Also note that you will lose a bit of height on the trailer with the smaller size.
We do have a much closer option with a 7.00-15LT tire like the Kenda # AM10412 which will have a diameter/height of 29.4 inches and fit your current rims without a problem. This particular bias ply tire features a maximum load of 2,156 pounds at 60 psi. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.
