Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota and as per the instructions I could not locate the colors of the wires to splice for the lock/unlock. Can you please tell me which is the correct wires for my truck, I do not want to cut the wrong wires.

I reached out to my contact at Pop & Lock to get the wiring colors for your # PAL8100 and your 2001 Dodge Dakota. My tech contact said that behind the driver's side kick panel there will be a gray wire and a tan wire leading to the door in a wiring harness. Those are the wires you will want to tap into and run the wire from to your tailgate. Then you will want to check the phasing because if they are mismatched you will unlock when you want to lock and vice versa.

The Pop & Lock response was incorrect for the 97+ Dakotas. The wire colors are Orange/Black and Pink/Black.
