Recommended Tonneau Cover for 5th Wheel Towing with a 2019 Ford F-350

Question:

I just bought a 2019 F-350 for towing my 5th wheel. What tonneau cover do you recommend that will secure my 5th wheel hitch as well as other items I may have in the bed?

We actually have quite a few selections for tonneau covers that secure gear in your truck bed when the tailgate is shut and locked. When it comes to the best though there are only 2 options that I recommend taking a look at for your 2019 Ford F-350.

The first is the BAK Revolver. This is a roll up tonneau cover that actually features an aluminum construction which is more heavy duty than the typical soft roll up covers. The Revolver provides security to your truck bed via the locking tabs and side rails. I recommend going with the X4 over the X2 as the X4 has a matte black finish and comes with heavy-duty locking levers with reinforced gussets for durability. If you have a 6-3/4' bed then you want part # BAK79330 but for an 8' bed you want part # BAK79331.

The best option for a tonneau cover is the RetraxPRO MX. This is a retractable tonneau cover that features the ability to lock at any point along the rails. The cover itself is very easy to move when it is unlocked and the aluminum construction provides a lightweight yet secure product. For a 6-3/4' bed use part # RT80386 or you will want part # RT80387 for an 8' bed.

The installation instructions for each have been linked to this page for you to reference.

I would like to expand on this question. I have a Ford F350 DRW w/8ft bed and 5th wheel hitch. I would like to use a flush mount utility box also. Any problems or suggestions?

@ChrisR Chris, saw this response as well as one to a chap with a F-350 short bed. I have the latter as well and wonder if there is a cover that allows me to have a below rail tool box positioned against the cab but will allow easy access to the tool box while not interfering with my PullRite sliding hitch. Any thoughts?

@Dick Your best bet for security is going to be the BAK Revolver because any of the sliding covers will have a canister that takes up about 12" of bed space and then the folding covers will either extremely limit your view out the back window or it will probably not fit with your 5th wheel hitch. The Revolver has about an 8" diameter when rolled up so it will sit that high and cover that much of your truck bed. If you aren't as concerned about having a locking cover then basically any of the soft fold-up covers will do exactly what you're wanting because they fold up much smaller than the Revolver.
