Question:
I like the look of polished aluminum propane tanks. I was wondering if I could mount a couple of 7 gallon tanks on the tongue of my airstream travel trailer and travel safely without using a cover?

You can absolutely mount the polished aluminum propane tanks on the tongue of your Airstream trailer so you don't need to use a cover like # CAM40542. The cover is designed to give a finished look to your system that the polished tanks are also designed to accomplish. You could add a hard cover like this for storage or you can use a soft cover like the Adco Propane Tank Cover for Dual 20-lb Tanks - Vinyl - Diamond Plate # 290-2712 to keep your tanks from dirt, debris, and corrosion. I've linked the page to all the propane covers we carry to assist.
Unfortunately we don't have the mounting kit for the tanks so you will need to determine the connection if you don't already have that on your trailer. This is what will secure your tanks so that you can travel safely down the road. The closest thing we have is the Single-Bottle Liquid Propane Gas Rack # 2020-JR for enclosed trailers.
