Towing Capacity and Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Dodge Durango

Question:
Have a 2018 Dodge Durango. 5.7L engine trying to verify its towing capacity. Also need hitch, already have wiring. Any help is appreciated!

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Dodge Durango. It states that for models with the 5.7L engine the maximum trailer weight is 7,400 pounds if you have RWD and 7,200 pounds if you have AWD.
For a trailer hitch that will work great on your Durango I recommend the Draw-Tite Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75713. This custom Class III hitch will use existing holes in your Durango's frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening and it has 6,000 pound towing weight capacity. This capacity is increased to 7,500 pounds when using a weight distribution system although you will still need to stay below the limits of your vehicle. This is the highest rated hitch available for your vehicle.

Is the amount of towing factory installed systems or aftermarket as ive been told that if its aftermarket it drops to half that amount as im looking to purchase a used 2018 durango rt AWD
